Well, this is my first Inu-Yasha fanfic and I'm nervous. ^_^; I wrote this
during a period of being sad ;_; I think I could have done better, but
sometimes you got to take a gamble and I'm taking one now.
IMPORTANT: This is my version of what I think what would have happened if Naraku never entered into the picture.

'Kikyo...'
I'm half human and half-demon. People hate me because I am different. I am an outcast. I used to be a heartless bastard until I met you...then I realize that I wasn't heartless.
'Kikyo...'
I remember when we first met. I was causing trouble in a village and you pinned me to a tree with your arrows. You had the chance to kill me, but you didn't. In your eyes, I could see that you were lonely because you were different...like me.
'Kikyo...'
I remember the day I told you that I love you. Beautiful spring evening...we had just finished sailing across a small lake. We pulled in to a dock and you were climbing out of the boat. You tripped and I caught you. At the moment, I realized how much I needed you.
'Kikyo...'
A week later, your shoulder was injured by a demon. He attacked you to get to me. After that attack, I realized you would be in much more danger as long as I am near you. So I left you...
'But Kikyo followed me...'
I didn't understand. I wanted to stay away from you, but you loved me with all your heart and you followed me. You told me that as long as we are together the demons will never win. I wanted you to go. I could only think of one way how...
'I'm sorry, Kikyo...'
I couldn't hate you because I loved you so much, so I decided to make you hate me. I attacked your injured shoulder, hoping that you would think I hated you and you would leave me alone.
'But Kikyo didn't leave...why?'
But you fought back. You fought with all your strength, but in the end, neither one of us was the victor. I can still see the look on your face as my claws ripped through your flesh...that look of sadness. I can still recall your final words, "I forgive you..."
'Kikyo...'
That event still haunts my mind...
Kikyo, how could you forgive me?
Why couldn't you hate me?

Well, what do you think? Yay or nay?
