Dreaming
Jiroh sleeps. And because he sleeps so much, Jiroh dreams. Sometimes, when thinking back and going through his memories, he can not clearly remember if something was a dream or not. But he never thinks too hard on it when this happens; just shrugs and goes right back to sleep and the dream world.
Once he had a dream that Gakuto and Oshitari were eating each other's faces right next to him. Then again, that was probably reality.
He has a wide variety of dreams: some happy, some sad, some crazy, some terrifying. The dream he had about Atobe kissing him was definitely confusing, but certainly not one he would place in the latter category. That one was an especially vivid dream. Sometimes they are hazy and all he can do is remember parts of what they were about, but this one is like a shining beacon of light in his mind.
Jiroh doesn't usually remember, or even notice really, where he falls asleep, but waking up with his head pillowed by Atobe's lap is becoming a more frequent occurrence. When he wakes up and finds himself like this, he'll yawn lazily, as normal, and turn his head to blink and look sleepily up at the other boy. Atobe will then give him his trademark smirk and say, "You feel asleep on my lap, again." But then Jiroh thinks he may still be dreaming, because while the face above him is wearing a smirk, it's not at its usual intensity, and the eyes gazing down upon him seem almost soft.
So Jiroh merely turns back over so he is no longer looking up at Atobe and closes his eyes again, which causes him to miss the confused look on the Captain's face as he mumbles, "A good dream..."
He dreams that Atobe has been sitting closer to him than normal as he sleeps, or on the rare chance that he is actually up and awake, standing closer to him. He dreams that Atobe is sometimes waiting for him at the door when his class lets out, and then the dream-Atobe will say it's just because he needs to make sure Jiroh doesn't just fall asleep again and skip his next class. If he misses them his grades will drop and then he won't be able to play on the tennis team anymore. So far he has been able to keep his grades up to and beyond a passing grade, though how he does it no one really knows.
And then he has a dream that he has just won an important match and comes bouncing over to Atobe on his usual post-game sugar high and grabs the bigger boy's hands in his excitement, squeezing them tightly and bouncing up and down some more, rambling on about the game. He feels the hands he's holding give his own a tight squeeze then, though, and sees Atobe giving him what could be called a smirk and would probably trick most people, but Jiroh is able to see through it and see the pride it holds and conveys. Atobe is proud of him.
Then again, maybe it wasn't a dream after all.

A/N: I'd just like to say: Happy Birthday Jiroh! Turning the same age you were last year ^^ I hope everyone liked this fic, and reviews would be greatly appreciated.
On slightly unrelated news, if you read my other (really short) drabble, 'Self-Promise (of a Smile)' and were hoping for a continuation, I think I might really do it. Not sure when it'll be done or how long it'll be, one-shot or multi-chaptered, but I'll probably at least start it soon, so look forward to that ^^
