The very next moment Yugi woke up with a jolt. Joey was shaking him like a maniac. "Wake up Yugi! It's time to go to the Battle City Finals!" Yugi looked around his room. Relieved to see his Millennium Puzzle, Yugi got dressed in a flash. After telling everyone about his dream, Yugi looked over to Taia who was laughing so hard she was in tears. "That was the funniest thing I've ever heard you say Yugi!"
In just 5 minutes Yugi would face Merick. Depending on who wins that match decides 2 things; 1.The fate of the world and 2.Who would face Kaiba in the end of the tournament. With seconds to spare, Yugi arrived at the arena. Waiting with a very unpleasant smile, was none other than Merick. As Kaiba announced the finalists, Merick told Yugi that his Millennium Puzzle was as good as gone. Finally after a long wait, the finals began. First up, Merick vs. Yugi.
