Kagome: yay!
Inuyasha: and here I thought the torture had ended
Kurama: oh no the torture continues
Hiei: it always does
Would you three shut up?
Kurama: but we speak the truth
No you don't
Hiei: yes we do
Kagome: you guys are just mean
Inuyasha: why are you taking her side?
Kagome: because someone should and she did write a good story

Kurama: I can't believe people actually read this
Hiei: I can't believe she has the guts to put this up
Inuyasha: hey I just remembered something

Inuyasha: you promised me Ramen if I stayed

Sam plopped down on the ground next to Kurama, completely exhausted. Hiei jumped in a tree above them, "can't believe we couldn't find one jewel shard."
Kagome sat across from them, "at least we covered a lot of ground."
Inuyasha huffed from a nearby tree, "that's what happens when we let you decide the way we go to find shards."
Sam picked up a small rock and threw it expertly at Inuyasha, "cut it out already would you? You have been picking on Kagome all day. Not to mention arguing with Hiei nonstop!" Inuyasha scowled and rubbed his shoulder where the rock had hit.
Hiei chuckled, "baka hanyou."
Sam shot him a look, "you didn't have to argue back!"
Yusuke laughed, "you guys are getting told off!" Sam sighed, she knew Yusuke was yet another person who deserved to be told off but she didn't feel like telling everybody off who deserved it at the moment. She leaned against Kurama who wrapped his arms protectively around her. Kuwabara appeared from the woods with an armful of firewood, he dropped it into a small pile in the middle of the group.
"Hey Kurama," he began, "why haven't you turned into Yoko?"
Yusuke frowned, "why would he need to?"
Kuwabara shrugged, "I thought it would be easier for him to help keep a look out for things if he were in his demon form."
Sam smiled, "that's actually not a bad idea."
Kurama nodded, "I agree, besides my demon form can fight a lot better when it finally comes to that, and it can help protect a lot better as well." With Sam still in his arms he allowed Yoko to take over, transforming into the handsome youkai. The sight of the transformation greatly surprised the Inu group.
Shippo was the first one to speak up, "you look just like Inuyasha." The other three nodded in compliance.
Yoko huffed, "I do not look anything like him! I have refined fox ears not some mangy dog ears. I have an elegant tail and am much more handsome then the mutt over there." His tail twitched behind him as if the words Shippo spoke agitated it as well.
Sam giggled, "in case you haven't noticed, though I don't see how you wouldn't, Yoko, unlike Kurama, is a bit full of himself."
Yoko lifted his chin slightly, "and with good reason, I mean just look at me, and look at my track record." Sam gave him a playful smack which only earned her a tight squeeze from the Yoko.
Yusuke groaned, "man do you ever have a huge ego."
Sam laughed, "as if you don't."
Inuyasha scowled, "would you people get to bed, we have to get up tomorrow and keep searching."
Sango sighed, "fine you're right Inuyasha." She grabbed a blanket from Kagome and settled down to go to sleep.
Miroku started to go over to where she was then paused. He turned to Sam and bowed slightly, "Miss Sam, I hope you have a good night's sleep and are prepared for tomorrow, my guess is by the end of tomorrow you will have met another of Kagome's friends."
Sam sat there confused, "um what?"
Kagome groaned, "oh that's right, Kouga's cave is around here." Now all the spirit detectives were confused and wouldn't be able to sleep till they got answers.
"Who?" Yusuke was the one who asked.
Sango yawned, "a wolf demon prince who is in love with Kagome."
Sam smiled, "oh I see, can't wait to meet him." A teasing glint was in her eye as she snuggled into Yoko's arms.
Kagome pouted, "hey no teasing!"
Sam laughed, "ok I promise not to tease...much." Kagome only scowled as every one settled down to sleep. Yoko maneuvered Sam in between his legs so she leaned back into his chest as she slept. Yusuke slept near them, making sure to keep an eye on them if necessary. Kuwabara was on the other side, but a bit far from the two. Kagome was next to Yusuke with Inuyasha in a tree above her and Shippo cuddled up in the blankets with her. Sango was near Kagome and Miroku was close to her as well. It didn't take long for all of them to fall asleep, making Hiei the only one wide awake.
Hiei looked down at the couple sleeping underneath him with a feeling of jealousy towards Kurama in him. He scowled, what am I thinking? Sam is Kurama's mate, not mine and she never will be. I need to get these foolish ideas out of my mind.
He leapt out of the tree and landed in front of Sam's feet soundlessly. He looked back to make sure they were still asleep. He slipped through the trees unnoticed but didn't stray far from the rest of the group. He unsheathed his katana and took out his frustrations on the trees. He was so engrossed in his sword work he didn't notice that he had been out there for a few hours.
"Hiei?" a soft voice said from the side. Hiei turned to see Sam standing on the side, concern on her face. Hiei cursed inwardly, even half asleep and with her hair and clothes in shambles she still looked stunning.
Hiei shook his head, "you should get some sleep."
Sam walked over to him, "you should too, aren't you tired? You look like you've been out here for a while."
Hiei held his breath as she lightly touched his shoulder, "no I'm fine, go back to Yoko, get some sleep."
She yawned, "want someone to train with?"
He shook his head, "no I'll be fine."
She stifled another yawn, "you should get some sleep too."
He nodded, "I will but I don't need as much sleep as you do."
She hesitated, "are you sure you don't want me to stay?"
Of course I want you to stay!, his mind screamed but he shook his head, "I'm sure now go I don't want you tired in the morning."
She sighed, "all right but be sure to get some sleep, for me please?" He only nodded as she left him to return to Yoko. Hiei dropped to the ground and sighed, he really hated this.
Inuyasha was the first to wake up and made it his duty to wake up everybody who was still sleeping. He stopped in front of the tree Hiei was in and smirked, this was going to be fun. Sam however ruined his fun before he even got to do anything.
"Leave him alone till we're all ready," she warned.
Inuyasha frowned, "what? Why?"
Sam narrowed her eyes, "I don't think he got a full night's sleep, in fact I know he didn't and I want him to be fully rested."
Yusuke looked up, "why didn't Hiei get any sleep?"
Sam sighed, "I wish I knew, something's bothering him I found him in the middle of the night chopping trees left and right."
Yoko frowned, "maybe I should talk to him."
Kuwabara shook his head, "leave the shrimp alone, he won't talk about what's bothering him anyway."
Kagome looked up at the sleeping fire demon, "will he be all right?"
Sam bit her lip, "I hope so, he's pretty tough so he should be ok."
Miroku stood silent for a minute, "could it be women trouble?"
SMACK!
Sango stood over the injured Miroku, "not everything is about that monk."
Sam laughed, "she's right, though in this case it may be. He could be worried about his sister."
Kuwabara looked up, "Hiei has a sister?"
Yusuke put a hand over Sam's mouth, "uh yeah she's uh um."
Kuwabara laughed, "she's probably just like him."
Yusuke and Sam looked at each other before blurting out at the same time, "yeah just like him."
Kagome raised an eyebrow then in a low whisper so Kuwabara couldn't hear said, "you guys are lying."
Sam nodded, "and we would tell you the truth but Hiei made us promise not to tell."
Kagome nodded, "I understand." They assembled everything together and were ready to be off, waking Hiei the only thing left to do. Sam suggested she do it since Inuyasha seemed a little too eager to. She climbed up the tree and managed to grip onto a branch so that she was half hanging over Hiei. She looked down at his sleeping form, he looked sort of innocent like that. She gently put a hand on his shoulder and shook him softly.
"Hiei wake up," she whispered.
"Mm," he mumbled, "Sam...."
She froze, did he just? No it was probably not what she was thinking, maybe it was a nightmare. She looked down to see no one was paying attention, they were all busy with other things, even Yoko. She leaned a bit closer to Hiei and jostled him a little more, "Hiei."
He groaned softly grabbing her in his sleep and pulling her against him, "Sam."
She turned red and thanked whatever god was listening that Yoko was not paying attention. She gulped and put her mouth near his ear, "Hiei you have to wake up, we have to go."
Hiei slowly opened his eyes and much to his embarrassment found himself hugging Sam, "sorry."
She got off him and shook her head, "it's ok....for future reference you were talking in your sleep." She climbed back down the tree leaving a pale Hiei behind her. Hiei quickly composed himself but inside was desperately trying to remember what he could have possible said. She didn't look mad, but slightly embarrassed. He sighed, he had no clue what he had said. He jumped down and followed behind the group, a feeling of doing something stupid rising in his mind.
Kagome stretched and looked around, "this is nice, the peace and quiet."
Sam smiled, "yeah I know, but we do need to get a move on."
Inuyasha sniffed and growled, "we need to move now!"
Yoko sniffed and scrunched up his nose, "ugh smells like wolf."
Sango looked up, "wolf? Oh I see Inuyasha wants to avoid Kouga."
Sam looked around, "I want to meet this guy, and what's with the face?"
Yoko's nose twitched, "I don't like the smell of wolf, it's almost as bad as dog."
Inuyasha scowled, "well fox ain't much better."
Yoko smirked, "actually I know for a fact my scent has the smell of roses mixed in so it can't be as bad as you and the wolf."
Sam sighed, "let's not begin the day with a fight huh?"
Kagome turned her head to the side, "too late for that." From where she was looking what looked like a small twister came towards them before stopping in front of Kagome.
The wolf demon smiled down at her, "has the mutt been treating you well?"
Inuyasha growled, "get way from her flea bag."
Sam groaned, "oh great as if people weren't arguing enough in this group."
Kouga looked around, "who are you people?"
Yoko made a face, "ugh do you even bathe?"
Kouga growled, "what the hell does that mean?"
Sam put her face in her hands as the fight began between the three demons, "oh my lord."
Yusuke chuckled, "oh this is going to be fun."

Anyway to my reviewers out there, apparently you want me to pair Kagome up with Yusuke, however two of my friends are in the process of talking me out of it so here's the deal, I will let you people vote between a Kagome/Yusuke pairing and a Kagome/Inuyasha pairing so basically it depends on how many people vote and what they vote on
Inuyasha: vote for me!
Kagome: um well they are both kind of cute....
To my friends if it does turn into a Kagome/Yusuke pairing, sorry and remember even though in the series Keiko is Yusuke's girlfriend, I never said anything about her or Yusuke having a girlfriend in this story or the last one so technically he is open for the taking anyway gtg see ya people now go and review!
