Wrong Girl
Jonny was sitting in the living room, reading. Suddenly Iris' voice rang through the house: "Jessie Bannon at front-door."
Jonny looked up. "Open front door."
A few seconds later, Jessie walked into the room. "Hey Jonny!"
"Hey..." Jonny replied.
"Watcha reading?"
"Tv-guide."
"Oh."
It took a few moments for Jonny to realize that that didn't exactly sound like Jessie. He looked up, seeing a girl in a pink t-shirt unpacking some bags. Even though he never saw Jessie wearing pink before, this didn't seem very unusual. But then he noticed something else; out of the bag came a light blue dress, a pink pair of shorts and an orange t-shirt.
Jonny eyes grew larger each time another bag was opened. A hairbrush, tennis shoes? What had she bought! This was nothing like the Jessie he knew. SHE would come home with new videogames or a really good book!
He got up and walked up to Jessie. "Uhm... Jess?"
She turned around and flashed a bright smile at him. "Yeah?"
Her eyes were very big and bright and she kept smiling sweetly. Jonny blinked a few times trying to shake his confusion.
Then it dawned on him. He looked at the ceiling and yelled: "You idiots, you wrote in the Jessie from the wrong season!!! Oh, why me?! I quit!!"
And with that he walked out the door, leaving a stupefied and tearful Jessie standing by her new purchases, asking herself: "What did I do to deserve this?"
