I don't own any of the characters. Or CSI.

This is my response to this weeks Unbound Challenge. And my first CSI story.

Desire

And so the evening began, with a sticky car door, a sand-covered decomp, and a sudden downpour. Stalking through the doors into the CSI building Sara went to find Greg in trace.

A voice sounded behind her, "Sara, my sweet, I-"

Whirling around, her death glare stopped Greg in his tracks. He couldn't help himself, "What happened to you?"

Her white shirt had a large red stain on it, her hair was stringy, and he was close enough to smell something unpleasant. She just shoved some samples towards him, "Whatever other evidence I had got washed away. Find something and don't put Nick and Warrick's stuff ahead of mine." With that she stormed off to the break room.

Raising an eyebrow, Greg turned on his music and started working, but he couldn't help thinking about how cute Sara looked when she was angry.

As Greg walked into the break room a few hours later with Sara's results she shoved something under a pillow. Looking slightly embarrassed she stood up.

"What was that?" asked Greg.

Glancing down at the offending pillow Sara spoke up quickly, "Nothing. Did you identify the substance found on the vic's hand?"

Greg shook his head, "No no no, you're not going to get rid of me that easily."

"Greg," she pleaded.

He shook his head, "Nope, you get your results when I get my answer."

She glared at him; "It's a book."

An idea forming Greg decided to follow it. "Thank you. Now, the gunk on your vic's hand was honey, you know, the kind you get from health food stores? And the other sample was-" darting forward he shoved his hand under the pillow and yanked out the book.

As Sara tried to grab it he began laughing, "Desire? You're reading a Harlequin novel?" Grabbing the book out of the lab tech's hands Sara stuffed it in a drawer. "It's not mine, I found it."

Smirking Greg nodded, "Of course you did. You know what the worst thing about this is? I can't even tell anyone about this!"

She looked puzzled, "Why not?" she asked cautiously.

"It would be your word against mine. And come on, you reading something called Desire?" he snorted, "I don't think anyone would believe me."

The End. My first and probably last CSI fic.
