Serenity's P.O.V.

            What a morning!  thought young Serenity Wheeler as she raced down the hallway of Domino High.  This just wasn't her day.

            First her alarm didn't go off, so she ended up sleeping in & had to skip breakfast.  Then she missed her bus & had to walk to school in the pouring cold rain.

            "I hope I don't catch a…(sneezes)…cold."  She said as she continued running.

            If all that wasn't bad enough, she had actually made it to class on time, only to realize she left her math textbook in her locker.  So, since her teacher hadn't arrived yet she made a run to get her book.  This pretty much leads up to right now.

            Could this day possibly get any worse?  thought Serenity as she rounded a corner & ended up crashing into someone knocking the both of them over with a loud thud.

            "Ouch!"  said Serenity as she rubbed her nose & looked at who she ran into.

            Then her whole body froze.  The person she ran into was none other than Chuck Parker, the school bully.  He was the kind of bully, who didn't have a problem hitting girls. [You know, a slime-ball.]

            "I'm so sorry sir!"  said Serenity fast, hoping that he'd forgive her.

            "Why don't you watch where your going ditz!!!"  He yelled.  "You'd think with eyes as big as yours you'd watch for other people!"

            "I'm really sorry!"  Serenity said bowing her head in shame.

            "Sorry ain't gonna cut it!"  He yelled.  "I outta pound your ugly face in!"

            Well, I'm doomed anyway.  Might as well go for broke.  thought Serenity upset that this jerk called her ugly.

            "Excuse me!"   Serenity said angrily.  "I may have knocked you over, but I apologized.  You don't have to be such a jerk about it!"

            "Why you…"  Chuck said seething in anger as he grabbed her by her school uniforms collar & raised his fist.  "…no one disrespects me!"

            Here it comes.  thought Serenity as she closed her eyes & braced herself for the coming blow.  Only, the blow never came.  She looked & saw that someone had knocked Chuck on his ass & gave him one hell of a black eye.  Someone, who was standing right behind her.

            Who did that?  wondered Serenity as she turned around & looked in shock.

            She had been expecting to see the kind hearted Tristan Taylor, her big brother Joey Wheeler…or maybe even Duke Devlin.  The person who was behind her however was the one person she hadn't expected to see.  It was none other than the Duel Monsters World Champion, Seto Kaiba.

            "K…kaiba!?!"  Serenity said in shock.

Seto's P.O.V.

            I hate bullies!  thought Seto after he knocked out Parker.  Ever since his days at the orphanage, where the big kids would pick on his little brother Mokuba just to hurt him.  Since then he always felt the urge to beat up those who liked to pick on others.

            Who'd I save anyway?  thought Seto as he looked down into the shocked face of Serenity Wheeler.  Great!  It's the mutts sister.

            "Ummm,…"  said Serenity.  "…th-thank you for saving me."

            "Don't worry about it."  Seto said in his usual gruff manner.  "I just happen to hate bullies."

            "Still, if you hadn't come along, who knows what would have happened."  She said blushing.

            She sure is pretty when she blushes.  Whoa, where'd that come from?  thought Seto.

            "Glad to be of help."  Seto said as he continued on his way.  But as he walked away, all he could think about was the cute girl behind him.  He couldn't believe these feelings.

Ever since he first met her during his Battle City Tournament he'd had a few feelings for the young Wheeler girl.  Her cute, petit form, her soft brown hair, her clear green eyes, everything about her was just so irresistible.  But, he figured that after all he put her brother through, she wouldn't want anything to do with him.  So it was best to forget thoughts like those.  They would never happen in real life anyway.

Serenity's P.O.V.

            There goes a real man!  thought Serenity blushing as she watched Kaiba walk away.  She continued on her way to her locker, got her book & ran back to class just beating the teacher to the classroom.

            While she sat doing her math lesson, she kept thinking about this morning.  Ever since Battle City she had gained a little crush on the young executive, she even slept with a picture torn out of a business magazine of him under her pillow.  However, she figured her brother was right & all he cared about was himself & no one else.

            Now, she knew differently.  He didn't even seem to notice who it was until after he knocked Parker out.  So to him, she was a total stranger & he helped her.

            Maybe there is something to this damsel in distress bit.  thought Serenity as she wished she'd had her eyes open so she could have seen her knight in shining armor save her.

            I might just have a chance.  thought Serenity who had the random thoughts of being Kaiba's girlfriend.  She had to admit to herself that maybe it wasn't just a crush.  She was in love!  She, Serenity Wheeler was in love with Seto Kaiba, her brother's life long enemy.  Now she prayed that he might like her.  How could she bring herself to find out?  Then it occurred to her the best way to thank him for saving her.  She'd buy him a present to thank him!  Something she figured he would like.  But, what could she get him?
