After the Dark Days, Draco Malfoy had not married Pansy Parkinson. The
reason being he didn't love her, or could even tolerate her. He pretended
to during school but that was because of his father. Now that Lucius was
dead, Draco didn't need to bother to comply to everything he wanted.
Free from that weight, Draco was able to concentrate on what he liked the most: writing. He had started as a journalist for the Daily Prophet and had moved on to novels after a couple of years. Too proud to write under his real name and afraid of a rejection or even success, he had been writing under a pseudonyme, Marc O. Doflay, which was an anagram if his real name. His books reflected on the psychology of life and the horrors of war, and were, just like he feared, an instant success.
Apart from that, Draco's life didn't have a social side. No kids, wife or even girlfriends, he spent most of his time with his mother, now in Saint Mungo's, probably for life after being under the Imperius curse for so long. This is why Malfoy jumped on the occasion of going back to Hogwarts.
Though when Draco took up the position as Potion's teacher that Severus was offering him, he didn't think he would meet up again with his old enemy, let alone with her son.
'What is that kid doing in Slytherin anyways...' he thought, 'well, he is Krum's son also, so...'
He had been clearly surprised, while standing in a corner of the teacher's lounge, waiting for the reunion to begin, to find Hermione cheerfully speaking to her most hated teacher at Hogwarts, aka Severus Snape. The surprise he held went even further as he heard Granger's son being sorted into Slytherin.
Sitting at the desk of his classroom, Professor Malfoy (how he loved the sound of that) had sent for the Slytherin first years to come one by one in his office, in order to make them feel welcome enough. So, that wasn't really it, in fact, he wanted to see who Jude Granger was, as he had only saw him from the teacher's table in the Great Hall.
"Come in!" he said as a knock on the door was heard.
Jude walked in slowly, peering at the imposing form that was his new Head of House.
"Name?"
"Jude Granger"
Now sitting straight in front of him, Draco could finally see him clearly, even at the dim glow of the candles that lit the dungeons. Jude was of a rather skinny composure, though he was tall enough. His oval shaped face had a sharp sense to it, though his smooth skin was one of a baby. His hair was the most peculiar alternance of brown, dark brown and blonde, though it seemed natural, not highlighted by some muggle product.
His eyes had something to them that Draco could not see from his desk, though it was clear that emotions could be read easilly through those clear eyes Draco was staring at, if you knew how to look.
"I suppose the prefects filled you in about how everything works here. Therefore, I would like to ask you more personnaly questions, as I want to known the students from my house..." he paused, expecting an interruption of some sort, though it never came.
Jude only raised an eyebrow, inviting his professor to continue.
"Have you been acquainted with magic before?" Draco asked.
Jude shrugged and said, casually: "I've known magic all my life, I guess. Though my mom always told me not to over use it. So we lived as muggles, but I did get lessons on how to use a wand..."
Draco smirked openly, 'Figures' he thought.
"But that's not what you want to ask, is it?"
Malfoy sat back in his chair and took a good look at the boy in front of him.
"What makes you say that?"
Jude blushed a little, unsure of what he was about to say. "You're Draco Malfoy, the arch nemesis of my mom since your first day of Hogwarts. You want to know about her, don't you?"
At this point, Draco sighed, getting up, and went to sit on the stool next to the young Granger. Staring ahead to the blackboard. He declared:
"Okay, you caught me. I'm dying to know what has been going on with Granger –I mean Hermione– 's life since the end of the war... Clue me in?"
Hogwarts' new Potion's master looked at the kid next to him. Both his eyebrows shot up. 'Those eyes...'
Jude smirked, a mischevous glint flashing through his cloudy gray eyes.
"What makes you think I'm on your side?" he said before getting up. "I'll send for Eleanor".

Later that day, professor Malfoy found himself on the way of one of his coworker's chambers. Outside, the night was black, no moon not even stars shinning. A storm was coming.
Not even bothering to knock, Draco opened the door to Hermione's quarters and closed it, before giving a flick of a wand to light the candles in the room.
A lump of bushy hair could be seen at the end of a form covered in bed sheets. The body moved to the side, mumbling: "Just 5 more minutes mom..."
Loosing his temper, professor Malfoy took the cover and threw them back to the feet of the bed, revealing Hermione in a tank top and pajama bottoms, still clunching onto a pillow, rolled up in a ball.
"We need to talk, Granger" he simply said as he sat on the edge of the bed.
Hermione's eyes shot open as she put herself in a sitting position. She glared at the blonde man so hard it must have hurt.
"Malfoy" she spat, "GET out. RIGHT now, un-der-stood??" in a barely controlled voice.
He took a deep breath and looked into Hermione's eyes.
"Next time, would you mind keeping me informed that I have a son?" he asked, matter-of-factly.
Hermione looked as if she was trying to get a hairball out of her throat. In a series of coughs, eyes watering, she reached over her night stand and took her glasses.
"I... What... Just... Malfoy! What in the name of Merlin are you insinuating?"
Draco rolled his eyes.
"Granger... It's not like I raped you, we were both complying to have sex with one another. Though, you could have told me... how to put it... it had let to something," he finished, uneasilly.
Thoughts of Jude were playing through his head. 'I'm a father, I'm a father, I have a son, I have a son, I am a...'
Tears started to roll down Hermione's cheeks as she huged her pillow.
"I had forgotten about you, I was so convinced he was Viktor's. I wanted him to be Viktor's son. But I already knew before he was born, the dates didn't match, Jude came too early to be his. Though I kept telling myself he was. And then Jude was born, and he had your eyes. At first I couldn't look at him," she sobbed, "Can you believe it, not being able to look at your son because he reminded you too much of you past mistakes?"
The woman bit into the pillow a few seconds to control the sobbing that took her.
"And then I told myself he *WAS* Viktor's son, in a sense, so I raised him as such. I prefered to have a son who thought his father dead than wondering where he might be at the moment..." she ended, more tears rolling from her blood shot eyes.
The feeling that washed over Draco now was of one a wave during a sea tempest could not compare to.
"Do... do you intend on telling him?" he muttered.
Wide-eyed, Hermione stared at him.
"I'm sorry Draco..." she whispered, "I didn't mean to keep you away from your son... But... You can tell him if you want to. It's your right, after all."
Malfoy's eyes softened as he heard his name being pronounced by her. He got up and made his way towards the door.
"Good night" was all he was able to say, in a barely audible voice.

A/N: I know that's not much, am sorry!!!
I made Draco a writer because I just thought it fitted his personnality, kind of like Jack Nicholson in As Good As It Gets, you know? And if you are wondering what on earth I meant by 'reflecting on the psychology of life and the horrors of the war', I meant kind of like Milan Kundera's books, minus the sex ('The Unbearable Lightness of Being' is one of his books, just so you know, it's a really good one, of that!!!).
I forgot to say in my author's note on the 1st chappie: the first sentence 'gutenmorgen...' is a German sing along morning song and I put it there because I sing that every morning since a German speaking friend of mine taught it to me!! Am crazy, I know. It means: 'good morning, good morning, good morning, sun and shine!'
Thanks to my reviewers of the first chappie!! Dracodolenz, kole17, Malfoy4ever (I updated, look!!! lol), UniMyth, laughing and dreaming (love your sn!!!).
PLEASE R&R!!!!
