It was a cold autumn day when I saw him. I hadn't seen him for almost ten years. Then, there he was. Standing over their graves. Surprised to say, I was shocked. What was he doing here? He looked up when some dead leaves rustled beneath my feet.

"Remus," he nodded cordially.

"What are you doing here, Severus?" I asked, standing my ground.

"Hello to you too,"

"Answer my question. Please?" I asked him. Even though it had been ten years since I had seen him, I was still slightly intimidated by him.

"I'm here because their son is starting Hogwarts soon," he replied, coldly. His onyx black eyes were cold, as usual, and his lank black hair hung around his face.

"Her and My son. Not his. Never his," I mumbled, clenching my fists.

"Now, answer the same question, Lupin," he glared at me. I stood at my full height.

"Because I need to be," I said simply.

"You need to be? How so?"

"She was my goddamn wife, Severus. You know it," I hissed at him, getting slightly angry. He knew damn well why I was here. He raised an eyebrow at me.

"Really?"

"Jesus, stop it, Snape! You were the only witness, besides Albus," I threw up my hands in exasperation.

"Do I recall that? Oh, yes, I do," he smirked at me. I was ready to punch his crooked nose into his face. I gave up, and walked towards him. When I got to his side, I turned and looked down at the grave stones.

"She was too young to die. Too full of life," I felt him move slightly next to me.

"I know she was. He, on the other hand, was a-" I beat him to it.

"Bastard,"

"Right in one,"

"And I let her marry him. I let her marry the bastard!" I dropped to my knees, tears swimming in my eyes. I felt him kneel down next to me. He put his arm around my shoulder. "Come on, Remus. You didn't know it was going to happen," he told me. I shook my head.

"I knew. I knew, deep in my heart, I knew she was going to die," I sobbed. Severus sighed, and helped me onto my feet.

"No you didn't. Let us go and get something to drink, okay?" I nodded, and sent a last look at the gravestone, that held my Wife's fake name
