The day was bright, as many before, but we all know, even given a
happy appearance, things can take a dramatic turn.
"Inuyasha! YOU GET DOWN FROM THERE!"
"You're not the boss of me, stupid. Why should I listen to you?"
"Don't make me say it, Inuyasha. I will!"
Ah, the sound of arguments in the morning. Inuyasha sat perched on the branches of a tree high above Kagome, who was, as usual, trying to coax him down. She had at first begun with the simple 'please come down from there,' and now was at the point of screaming till her vocal cords were near snapping.
Shippou sat, poking a blade of grass as if he expected it to jump out at him, staring at it intently.
"Would you stop that?" Shippou jumped, hiding behind a near rock and peeking out at Sango.
"Gee... You haven't got to be so...sudden..."
Sango rolled her eyes at the little fox-child. "You don't have to be so jumpy, either."
"SIT BOY!" The resounding crash of Inuyasha hitting the dirt below seemed as if it almost echoed. Sango and Shippou both turned to look, and both raised a brow.
"Ouch," they said in unison, eyeing the large hole in the ground.
"Well, he should have listened. He knows Kagome isn't gonna go easy on him," Miroku chimed in, supressing a smirk as he leaned back, hands on the top of his staff.
"Oh be quiet, monk. No one cares what you think," Inuyasha retorted after spitting all the dirt he hadn't accidently swallowed out of his mouth. "I don't know why I put up with you, girl." He glared at Kagome, standing and placing his back against the tree he had been perched in.
"Master Inuyasha, you should be seeking the Shikon Jewel in any case. Kagome's done you a favor."
Inuyasha reached back to swat at the flea on his shoulder. "Oh, why don't you just run away screaming already. I could do fine without you pestering me all the time." He straightened, glancing around at Miroku, Sango, Kagome, Shippou and the unconscious Kirara.
"Fine, we'll go." He stretched his arms up over his head and shot Kagome a look of anger, surely stored up from moments before. Her response was the simple sticking out of her tongue and the uttered, "Naaaah." Inuyasha raised both eyebrows and shook his head at her, beginning to walk toward the small dirt path they had temporarily strayed away from to rest.
