Just a small little ficlet that came about from a conversation with my friend Jeni who told me I should write it when I mentioned the idea to her.

Disclaimer: None of the characters are mine and I'm not making any money from this story. Or anything else for that matter, but that's not really relevant here...

Thanks go to Jeni for the title and for being my friend. Love you! And to J.K. for giving us the characters in the first place.

What The Boys Don't Know.

"She likes me. Haven't you seen the way she looks at me when she thinks I'm not looking?"

"She looks at you because you're playing cards when you should be doing your homework!"

"No mate, it's love. I'm telling you."

"Don't be ridiculous, she doesn't love you. If anything she loves me."

"Refresh my memory, who was she jealous of at the Yule Ball?"

"No one! You were the jealous one, because she was going with Krum!"

"She was jealous too, I could feel it."

"You're just a friend to her, nothing more. But I could actually have a future with her."

"Why? Neither of you have ever given any indication of romantic interest!"

"Well, that doesn't matter. I'm the great Harry Potter; she's the female of our group. It's the natural order of things!"

"Oh get over yourself. She's mine, plain and simple."

On the other side of the common room Ginny Weasley watched Ron and Harry with interest. This was better than those muggle comedies Hermione had introduced her to last summer.

As if on cue Hermione herself appeared at her side with a questioning look on her face. "What are those two arguing about now?"

Ginny stifled a giggle. "Which one of them you love."

"Oh."

"Yeah. Think we should do something?"

"Go up to my dormitory?" Hermione gave her girlfriend a sly grin and grabbed her hand. Ginny eagerly accepted and the two slipped out unnoticed by the still arguing boys.

"But doesn't Hermione Potter have a great ring to it?"

"Trust me mate, she's destined to end up a Weasley."
