Hey, would an Aussie need a green card? Fez had one on That 70's Show. Oh
well. Roll with it.

Locked, Chapter Six
We were safe, at least for now. We had managed to escape from the compound and into the woods. From there we'd made it to the highway. We tried to thumb our way out of there until we realized we were all dirty and spattered with blood. Plus the FoH had their troops out on the road looking for us, so every time a car went by we had a mixture of hope that they would stop, and fear that they would grab us and bring us back. Finally we got sick of people speeding by and washed our clothes out in a river. A truck driver picked us up.
"Man, we're in /Canada/?" Kenny whined. It was the first time he had showed dislike for anything.
"At least now you know how I feel about America." The kid wasn't talking. He just sat squished between us staring at his shoes.
"Hey, that kid okay? He looks sick. Hey, why're you hitchhiking with a sick kid?" We gave him some load of bullshit about how our car ran off the road and we were stuck in Canada. The kid was Kenny's Little Brother, for the Big Brother program. The man said he'd sneak us over the boarder when I admitted I didn't have a green card, and Kenny didn't have any I.D.
We made it to Michigan, to some ugly grey town called Greenburry. I was still nervous that we would be caught but apparently there's a magical wall of protection between Canada and America because Kenny decided to start using his powers. I nearly had a heart attack when I saw him making a car.
"I'm not makin' a car. This is my principal's car. Well technically it's the vice principal's, but anyhoo, he was being an asshole so I stole it. I was gonna leave it down near the Charles before the Friendly Friends came and snatched me off the street. Sucks for him, huh?" I wondered what the Charles was, but I decided not to ask. For all I knew it could be a crack house.
I also began to worry about Damien. He hadn't said a word since we were still in the facility. I asked Kenny if he really could be sick.
"He might be. Or he could just be traumatized or somethin'. He ain't usually so quiet, I mean, he acts like he's on freakin' pep pills half the time. That's why they call him the Demon. So should we risk a doctor's visit?" He didn't look to happy about having to go to the doctor's (who would be?) but I decided it wasn't a good idea.
Finally even I thought we were out of immediate danger. I still wanted to strangle Kenny every time he did something with his powers, and that includes everything he does in his daily routine. The worst thing was what got us in trouble again.

I needed to use the bathroom so we stopped at a gas station in Greenburry. Public bathrooms are disgusting, so I would advise you all never to use one.
"Where's the kid?" I asked. Kenny was leaning against the car, giving his annoying upward nods to every person that passed by.
"I sent him over to Rosie's to get some coffee." He said pointing across the street to one of those old diners.
"What?"
"Don't worry man I told him to get yours black." He shrugged.
"What if someone sees him?"
"Hey, he's small. No one'll notice him." I could have punched him in the head but that would have just attracted attention, what I was trying not to do. I walked across the street and I almost reached the diner before Kenny caught up with me.
"Yo-"
"Don't /yo/ at me. You're an idiot, okay? First of all, he's just- what, twelve? And you over use your powers in front of all these bloody people. What is wrong with you? Are you stupid or just crazy?" He blinked, shrugged and stuck his hands in his pockets.
"Dude, that was just.." He looked like he was about to finish just when the front door was blown off its hinges, because someone had thrown a trucker through it. Someone stepped through the frame, holding their hand up with a black ropelike thing streaming out of it. The trucker landed in between Kenny and me and began twitching and foaming at the mouth.
"Damn. That can't be good."
"Thank you for that Captain Obvious." You'll be surprised to know Kenny was the one who said that to me. The person who had stepped out of the restaurant was surrounded by a black aura. They ran down in front of Kenny before they collapsed.
"Damien! Look what you did. You just shat all over our getaway." He shuddered and the aura dissolved.
"S-sorry. Someone started asking about John, and I.. I freaked."
"Who would want to know where John is?"
"Who cares? Let's just get the hell out of here."

Whoa! That was short. Well the thing we have been dreading has happened. Red Raven has writers block. That's why this thing is only like, two and a half pages long. Oh well. I liked the part where Kenny said 'Shat'. Haha!
Lotus Pen- Thanks! We love Kenny too. Maybe I should..
