ERASERS

By: Imitation L

L's notes: not much to say a one-shot RYOSAKU! It's placed in the time of the elementary school kiddies. Ryoma and Sakuno are taking a test together! What happens if Ryoma lost his eraser?

"Minna-san! Please get out a pencil and eraser. We will soon begin our math quiz. Remember! It's adding and subtracting from chapter two." The second grade sensei called out. She grabbed a handful of quizzes and began to hand them out to each student.

The students at Seigaku elementary school were busy getting writing utensils out of their desks. The girls waited quietly waiting for the sensei to hand out the papers. While the boys were rummaging around their messy desks, looking for something to write with.

Tomoka sat next to her very best friend, Sakuno. These two girls wore matching hair ties today. Cute candy shaped plastic bundled their thick chocolate colored hair.

"Tomo-Chan! I got a new eraser!" Sakuno reached in her pencil case and pulled out a brand new eraser. "Smell!!" she tossed her new candy shaped eraser over to her best friend, who caught it with engaging interest.

"Wow! It smells just like candy! This is so cute." Tomoka took a swift of the new eraser. "It looks so edible too!" The two girls giggled at the nonsense. While they  were chatting away about new school supplies, the other member at their table seemed to be in trouble.

I wonder where it is? I couldn't have lost it. I never lose things. After all, I am very organized. At least I hope I am. UGH! Where is that stupid eraser? I'm sure I had it!  Maybe I could ask the sensei for one. No, I couldn't have lost it The young boy was frustrated over his lost eraser.

"Okay! Now that everyone has a quiz, let's start okay? Take as long as you need." The sensei announced as she sat down on her desk. Watching the students write the answers to the complicated math questions. The class was immediately silenced; only scribbles on paper could be heard. And the occasionally, erasing too.

Five plus seven equals… hmm I'm not sure... I think it's ten" Ryoma wrote down a big fat one, zero. Then suddenly realizing his mistake. No it's eleven of course it's eleven. I wish I had an eraser. He sighed out loud. The nearby Sakuno heard his unfortunate groan.

I wonder what's he sighing about, um no matter. Let's see… Five plus seven is... um thirteen, no that doesn't sound right. Twelve! Yes, twelve. Sakuno scribbled down two neat digits. Her eyes couldn't help but glance over to the helpless boy. I wonder why he's sighing so much; he doesn't seem to be very good at math.

Okay, I'm just going to skip this question. Let's see, four plus two, this one is easy enough, six! Great, on to the next question; two plus nine equals... Uh, twelve" Ryoma gripped on his pencil and wrote down twelve. His writing was light, he was afraid to make a mistake.

I know why he's frowning so much now; he missed so many questions. It's because he's lost his eraser isn't it? Umm, maybe I should lend him mine… Sakuno eyed her brand new eraser, only been used a few times. Yeah, I should.

Sakuno grabbed her eraser and placed it next to Ryoma's test paper. Her eyes drifted over to the young boy's and smiled. The confused Ryoma eyed the eraser and picked it up, he immediately erased his mistakes and replaced them with the correct answers. He gave the eraser back to Sakuno, almost like new.

He mouthed the words "Arigatou."

Sakuno immediately returned to her quiz paper. Blushing in all the shades of pink and red.

Erasers...eh?

L's notes:Super short ONE SHOT the idea sounded cute in my head. I hope it appealed to you as well. And I know they can't be that bad at math, stretching the situation to make it seem more believable? Heh ==;
