She found him eventually; he was stud in one of the castles balconies
looking over the gardens. The sun was giving off a nice warm heat. She
walked up to him slowly, uncertain what to say to him.
"H...hey." She said softly. Link didn't move, only stud gazing onto the land leaning on the balcony. She came and stud next to him, he ignored her and kept staring down.
"Link" she whispered. "I didn't know you were ..."
"Yeah... I bet you didn't" he tilted his head up to the sun.
Zelda started to rub her hands nervously. She cared so much for him, she never dreamed of hurting him so badly. She had to tell him now; it was now or never anyway.
"Marth he...well he wants to unite with me." She looked away at the thought of it.
Link was so hurt, even after he thought it through by himself, and new what would happen. It just hurt more when he heard it from someone, especially Zelda.
Link looked at her though the side of his eyes.
"I don't know what I should do" Zelda broke out; she knew this was upsetting him, and becoming more and more nervous didn't help.
"Neither do I..." he replied back, turning away nearing the door.
"Link!" she gasped after him
"Look Zelda!" he turned and faced her, Tears forming in Zelda's eyes. "Don't let me end up stopping you bringing our races together! Its for the best anyway...right!"
He saw her tears and new he was upsetting her. She was staring hard at the floor wishing it would end.
"I hope you didn't come here, for me to help you choose?"
"I...I didn't"
He neared the door again. "He's a great guy... right" A thought came about all the trouble link had had with him, all his jealousness to him. And now this. Being able to hold Zelda, and yet so quickly it had taken him so long to get where he was with Zelda right now. The one person he cared about in his whole life...the person he lived for. Was being taken away from him by a spoilt little (anger and hatred began to rise inside of Link) little future king. And with all this that had hit him so hard, he started to cry silently, hiding it from Zelda.
"Just let me know when you've made up your mind...ok," she had hurt him so much. Jealousy was making him lose himself.
"Ok..." she managed to say trying to hold back her tears. Link took a step for the door. But Zelda passed him not giving one glance at him. She ran passed him so quickly, so he wouldn't see her crying. Link shocked that she left, stood gazing at where she had left, tears falling right down off his own cheeks.
