Reflections

Description: Series of short one-shots. Different characters reflecting on different things/people/events. The first one shall be Tohru thinking about Kyo. (Light romance.

Dedication: Each 'chapter' being actually it's own separate story, they shall all have different dedications.

Disclaimer: I don't own Furuba.

Also note that I will be using the proper Japanese formalities. I personally don't believe in writing them the other way, as I don't really like the English voice overs anyhow. I've watched the entire series in Japanese, thank you Jasmine, and I just can't bring myself to use Miss Honda and the like. But that's not to say I'd criticize anyone else for it, it's just my way.

A few other things.

( )Means it's a memory. Mostly used when Tohru is thinking of her mother.

(A/N - ) This is what one of my author notes will be.

" " Direct Dialogue. This includes dialogue in a memory.

Cat Got Your Tongue?

Description: This is Tohru thinking about Kyo. Basically based on the old saying, 'Cat got your tongue?'

Dedication: Alright, I shall of course be dedicating this one to my friend Rachel. Believe me, I'd have no other reason to right such a romance. So, as promised here you are Rachel.

Reflections 1 - Cat Got Your Tongue?

I'm quiet, I don't like to say anything to offend others, so often I'm either apologizing or merely not saying anything. They'll look at me, a teacher, a classmate, a friend, and say casually, sometimes with concern, or good nature, or cruelty, 'What's the matter Honda-san, cat got your tongue?'

If only they knew that such an innocent statement was completely true. They don't of course, nor can I tell them. I've promised to safeguard the Sohma secret with my life and my memory.

At first I was willing, albeit regretful, that my memory should be modified, but now such a prospect is utterly awful. To think I could lose some of the most precious memories I've had in so long.

It's partly because of him. having him around the house makes things exciting, to say the least. Granted he's always yelling, but its only because he so charmingly fails to see his own amazing qualities.

Yes, the cat in a way has my tongue. So often I find myself contemplating him that time disappears, it melts away without me even realizing it, I'm so lost in my thoughts. Thinking about it only leads to troubles so I put it out of my mind. Like Mother always used to tell me.

("Tohru, it's good to take time to think on things, but don't let thinking be your life.")

I've tried to concentrate time and time again, and I'm sorry to let you down Mother, but I'm afraid I cannot concentrate. As long as he's on my mind I can't get a moments peace. They may say the cat's got my tongue, but I think a more accurate statement would be that the cat has got my heart, wouldn't you agree Mother?

Alright, that's the first on my shorts. (Short stories, Jasmine. I KNOW what you're thinking. Don't make me place the curse on you again.) (Sorry all, inside joke.) Anyways. I realize it's terribly short, but Tohru's a hard character to pin when it comes to emotions and thoughts.

Anyhow, until next chapter,
