There are many reasons
I like fishing.
It calms the soul
To watch the ripples
In the water.
It feels good to
Catch your own dinner.
But mostly
If I sit long enough
On the bank
Holding my rod,
When the sun is low
In the sky
And the water reflects
The pink in the clouds,
She'll come looking for me.
Making sure I'm safe,
That I don't leave her.
She'll grab my hand
And hurry me home,
And I get to watch her
As she walks in front of me
Holding my catch.
