"What's wrong, luv?" Jack asked, concerned.
You slide your phone back into your bag and look at Elizabeth, Will and Jack. "You guys... Have to go, I mean back to the 18th century. Or you'll be forgotten from both our time and yours!" You say in a small voice. Then you look down and you feel the corner of your eyes going wet. "But I don't know how to return you all home."
The room becomes silent. The silence is broken when Elizabeth steps towards you and hugs you. "Will, Jack... It's time..." She says and you watch her, confused. "(your name)... This might seem a little too much for you, but we know how to get back to our time."
Jack hugs you too. "Ye know when I told ye 'bout the shiny gold object we found before we got stuck into the 21st century?" He asks you. And you nod, then Jack continues. "Well, while we were getting transported, I guess, we heard a voice that said we have to learn the meanings of these elements; Love, courage and being friendly." He says, smiling.
"I've learnt courage..." Will grinned.
Elizabeth continued. "And I've learnt friendship." She smiled to you.
Jack kissed you gently on the lips. "And I learnt my love... All thanks ter ye." He grinned, then gave you another warmer hug.
"But how can ye go back? I don't want you to forget me!" You sob.
"We wont forget ye!" Jack announced, matter of factly. "An' we know how ter get back, don't worry, (your name)."
Will took out something from his pocket. "We were told, when we learn the meanings of the three importance, we'll have to pay you somehow... Then we go back to our time."
You frowned in confusion. "Like.. what?" You ask.
"We don't have much time left... Take these, (your name)." Elizabeth hands you a ring off from her finger. "Don't lose it!" She smiled.
You give her a friendly hug in return, before she steps back.
"Here you go. This is a small carving I did when I was bored in the Blacksmith's..." Will gave you a shiny silver-looking palm-sized carving. "It's meant to be a W. For my name, Will." He says sheepishly. Then he moved beside Elizabeth.
You smile. "Thanks..."
Jack steps up to you. "'ere ye go... I noticed ye tied yer hair up most o' the times..." Jack says and holds your hand in his. "It used ter belong ter me mother... I hope ye take good care o' it." He gives you a beaded pearly hair-tie. "Oh and take this, too... I don't need it." He hands you something small as well. "But ye do..."
You look at the small object, and notice it's his compass. You know that the compass doesn't even point North but you sense it's very precious to him. "Jack..." You whisper. "I'll miss you..." A tear trickles down your cheek.
"Don't cry luv... I'll miss ye too, but whenever ye miss me ye could always look into me compass which'll remind ye o' ol' Jack!" He said smiling.
You quickly take off your necklace, and hand it to Jack. "Just incase you miss me, here take this." You say. And when he took it, you each shared a hug.
"We should be beack soon..." You hear Will and you give Jack a kiss. When you two pull apart, you see light all around and can manage just a faint outline of the three friends. Then the room completly goes white till nothing could be seen. "Love ye (your name)..." Jack's voice echos as the light decreases, but he can't be seen. Elizabeth and Will wasn't there either. They had gone back.
"Love you too." You whisper to yourself, wondering if Jack can hear you. You feel tears swelling up from your eyes, from both disappointment, sadness, relief , mixed emotins start forming.
1 months later.
You just came back from shopping, with your friend (the one that shouted at Will). You bought heaps, just as usual. You've got a song in your head that you can't seem to get out. In your room, you place the shopping stuff on your bed for now and place your bag onto your make-up table.
After that, you decide you'll have a shower later in the afternoon and go on the net. You wait for the computer to connect, and find out you have a habit of playing with your pearly hair tie, the one Jack gave you. You smile, remembering him. Now it feels like a dream, but it's not... You've got evidence, Elizabeth's ring, Will's carving-you turned that one into a necklace-, and Jack's hairtie and compass.
Once you logged in, you noticed you got an email from (your friend's name, the one that you were shopping with.). You clicked on it and out came a photo of you, Jack, Will and Elizabeth. And on the bottom (your friend's name) wrote, 'You all look so happy, I thought you might want this... I couldn't resist taking this photograph!'
You grin, and take out something black from the pocket of your boomer jacket. It's the compass. You open it and eye it carefully, for the millionth time. "I still miss you... But I'm happy, don't worry Jack." You say. Then look at the photo, looking at Jack, which makes you smile.
