Next chapter's here. (And there was much rejoicing...yay...) More randomness, lotsa pointless goings on in this one, and, of course, what chapter would be complete without some good old fashioned chibi kawaiiness?
Chapter 11: Plane Ride
The next day, the boys found their way to an airport in Buenos Aires and were presently asking which way it was to France. The clerk looked at them quizzically and leaned down on the desk to get closer to them. "You two think you are going to go to France all by yourselves?! I think you should find your parents and ask them first," he retorted, going back to reading the newspaper. "Anyway, I think you would want to book a flight to Paris, unless you want me to point the way and you two can fly there yourselves!" he said without even looking back. The thought had crossed Trunks' mind, but he decided to just get an airplane, it would be easier. They walked back from the desk and sat down dejectedly in a couple of empty seats to think. "Trunks-kun," Goten said. "I don't think they are gonna let us on a plane by ourselves, we're too young." Trunks didn't respond and sat with his fist under his chin, deep in thought with his eyes closed. A man in a trenchcoat with a high collar and a large hat walked by and into the bathroom. Trunks' eyes snapped open and the corners of his mouth turned up into an evil grin as he had a sudden idea. Goten knew that look, "What'cha thinkin'?" he asked. "Come on!" Trunks said, dragging Goten into the bathroom. There was a pause before a 'Hey!' and a muffled thump. Presently the man reemerged from the bathroom with his coat on crooked and the button at about waist level undone, walking with a stagger. He tripped over his own feet and ran into a wall before falling on his butt and having a great deal of trouble getting back up. People looked on in utter confusion and a few had their jaws hanging at what was certainly a very drunk man. A beefy security guard walked up and said: "Sir, if you are drunk then I will have to escort you out of this facility." The man's blue eyes widened and he said: "No-no-no! It's just...uhh...I just got off of a plane and...I...I'm a bit sick. Yeah, sick." The security guard looked suspicious, but he didn't smell any alcohol on the man's breath so he had to be telling the truth. The guard walked away to complete his rounds. "Trunks-kun," came a sudden voice from the approximate area around the man's crotch. "Why do I always hafta be on the bottom?" The man staggered again, and fumbled with his hat before saying: "Shaddup Goten! Just walk will you, and hold on to my legs better so you don't drop me." The bottom half sighed before walking in the direction of the ticket desk. "...and I can't see a thing down here!"
The man at the desk set down his newspaper and looked up at the figure in front of him wearing a large trench coat and a crumpled fedora. He looked down and noticed that the guy was wearing loose red pants and some really funny shoes; he also swore that he had seen the guy's eyes before. Forgetting his suspicion, the clerk said: "What can I do for you, sir?" The man slapped a few thousand zenni on the desk with surprisingly short arms for his height and said: "Uhh, I need to book a flight to Paris." The man's eyes narrowed at the apparent lack of sense the man displayed but shook it off. "What flight will you be taking?" Kuso! thought Trunks, I didn't think about that! Thinking quickly the older boy spoke up: "Which one would you recommend?" The clerk sweatdropped, it wasn't every day someone asked of his opinion, but he was flattered nonetheless. "I would recommend Air France, sir." "Okay, we will have two-I-I-I mean ONE ticket for the next Air France flight to go." The man didn't even notice Trunks' slip and punched up the order. A sudden nudge came in Trunks' stomach and he looked down, whispering: "What is it Goten?" "Tell him we want First Class, Trunks-kun," Goten whispered back. "Something I heard 'Tousan say." "Uhh," Trunks said, switching back to his deeper voice. "Make that for First Class." The clerk shrugged and switched the ticket to first class, placing it in the small hand and accepting the cash. "Have a good flight, sir; boarding is in fifteen minutes at terminal 3." The man walked off holding the ticket in one hand and his hat on his head with the other, still wavering noticeably.
The airplane gained momentum along the worn runway and picked up speed, lifting into the sky, bound for Paris. The flight leveled off at 29,000 feet and fell into its cruising speed. The man in the trench coat was crossing his legs and fidgeting like hell in the First Class seat and waiting for the seatbelt sign to go out. A few seconds later it went off and the man stood up, tearing off his seatbelt and streaked to the bathroom at super-human speed. A nearby flight attendant laughed under her breath and walked to the galley to prepare lunch. The bathroom door was shut and the little dial read 'occupied'. Inside, two yellow streams flowed into the basin out of two very relieved chibis, neither of whom had gone to the bathroom since the night before. "Ahhhh!" said Goten, eyes half closed. "I didn't think I was gonna make it..." Trunks pulled his Gi bottom back on and then threw off the hat, fixing his hair. "Me neither, man did I have to go!" Goten looked at his reflection in the cracked mirror with a lopsided smile before opening the door. They walked out of the toilet in tandem and proceeded back to their seat, gaining stares from people who had sworn to have seen a large man in a trench coat go into the bathroom. A man that had just turned into two small boys with very weird hair and clothes...and tails wrapped around their waists to go along with it.
The flight attendant walked down the aisle, serving the trays of lunch to the people seated in first class. She reached the boys' seat and lifted a tray of food toward them, and then stopped in shock. Is it just me, or were those two children not here before...she thought, looking at the Chibis squashed together in the same seat. Without missing a beat, she reached out to grab another tray and set them down in front of the boys. She nodded at them and turned to start walking when Trunks' voice said: "Hey, don't we get any food?" She turned quickly and the trays were gone, a shiver ran down the girl's spine as she was sure that she had given them food. She shook her head before handing them two more trays of food and then nodding and turning around. The cart was empty. She felt panic rise and her epinephrine levels skyrocketed. Am-am I losing my mind?! she asked herself. It's those kids! I know it! She turned quickly to point an accusing finger at the boys, who looked up confused from their meals and shrugged their shoulders. A large sweatdrop ran down her head as she not-so calmly walked the cart back to the galley to get more food. The people in the cabin looked about in utter confusion as to where the food had gone. Trunks finished his food and stuffed the tray under his seat on top of Goten's, which was on top of twenty-six other empty trays. But nobody noticed this.
Goten sat back and looked around, bored as usual. "What is there to do on an airplane anyway?" he said with a sigh. Trunks was fiddling around with something and he suddenly fished a remote control out of the armrest. Goten was shocked. "What'sat?" he asked. "I dunno, let's see," Trunks said, pressing the power button. A TV screen on the back of the seat in front of them flashed and then turned on. "Where's the sound?" Trunks asked. "I dunno, why you askin' me Trunks-kun?" They watched the TV without the sound for a few minutes before being handed a pair of headphones. They put them on and waited for the sound to work. Nothing happened and Trunks tried to force the plug into the wrong hole with a grunt. He pushed too hard and the armrest suddenly broke off with a 'crunch'! "Oops!" Trunks said, blushing slightly. "Now you done it Trunks-kun, you broke it!" Goten said disapprovingly. Trunks grabbed Goten's arm and yanked him into the empty seat in front of them before anyone noticed. Careful to find the right hole this time, Trunks managed to get the sound working and the boys sat back and watched the in-flight movie. The flight attendant walked up to ask what some people would want for dinner and then proceeded to the boys' seat. She started to speak but then stopped, the seat was empty. She screamed and gained several surprised looks from the passengers and she looked and saw the boys in the seat directly in front, screaming again. They still had the headphones on and didn't notice as the attendant started to have a nervous breakdown. I know they were in that seat! I saw them there! she thought frantically, they couldn't have moved, but...I...they...what's going on?! Her face became pallid and she half walked, half ran back to the galley to get some coffee.
The hours ran by, and the in-flight movie became more and more boring to the Chibis. Goten looked out the window but saw nothing but clouds and water, so he looked back at Trunks who was looking alert toward the end of the aisle. "What is it?" Goten asked. "I think they are bringing more food!" Goten complained about there being not enough and that he was starving, but Trunks already had a solution. "Why don't we go to the kitchen and get our own food?" he asked of Goten. Goten's eyes brightened and he said: "Yeah! Then we can eat all we want!" They got out of their seat and walked toward the galley. Seconds later they were roughly shoved out and told they would get their food served to them. They walked back to the seat and sat back down, sulking. Goten folded his arms and pouted. "But I'm hungry!" he said. Trunks, once again, knew what to do, "Let's just wait until she comes out and then we can use your Shunken Idou to get back in there without being seen!" Goten nodded in agreement and they watched as the attendant wheeled out a cart of food. In a flash, the two boys vanished and reappeared in the galley, surrounded with plates of food! Within a few minutes, they had cleaned out anything and everything edible and Goten almost ate a fork as well. They peeked out of the galley and watched as the attendant neared the seat. She saw that it was empty and decided they must have gone to the bathroom and turned to get their food. A small flash of light caught her attention and she dismissed it as the setting sun glinting off of the wings, turning toward the empty seats. "Hi!" Goten said waving at her. She dropped the plates of food in shock and then watched the smaller boy with very spiky hair catch them easily and hand one to his companion, they both dove into the food with shocking rapidity and the attendant turned, her left eye twitching like mad. That seat was empty! I know it was! And they were switched! The one with the purple hair now has the window seat, but it was the other way around before! Wait? Purple hair?! She looked back, frightened now. The younger boy shifted in his seat and a tail rose up from under his bottom. It had to be fake, but as she watched it danced back and forth in the air as the kid ate. This is insane! I'M INSANE!!! She rushed back to the galley and another scream broke the silence as she noticed all the plates were empty and licked clean. She sprinted for the flight deck, to tell the Capitan she needed sleep, badly.
The darkness fell quickly upon the aircraft, and although the movie they were watching had become interesting with many explosions and well choreographed fight scenes, the Chibis felt sleep starting to pull at their eyes. A few minutes later, Trunks turned off the TV and took his headphones off. Noticing that Goten was already half-asleep he removed his as well and shut the window shade to lock out any remaining light. Goten murmured something softly and then settled deeper into the seat and deeper into Trunks' arms. Trunks pressed the button to recline the seat a little further and then let his eyes close slowly, snuggling up closer to Goten. The quiet roar of the engines, far behind them, played through the boys' ears, lulling them to sleep. The soft snores from the Chibis weren't even noticed as they smiled in their dreams and slept on through the night.
Awwww! How cute! Gotta love it, more to come, please review. Thanks!
