Chapter 1: Tainted Roots
Unlike that of many other disturbed individuals, Eddie's family life was openly troublesome. Born of William and Rebecca Dumbrowski, he was an immediate disappointment. Eddie's parents were widely considered to be beautiful people. Rebecca was Homecoming Queen and Prom Queen in high school, and had a local modeling career after. William was star quarterback in high school, and escorted Rebecca to her Queen victories. The two dated throughout high school, and while attending the local community college. The two graduated, and eventually got married. One year later Rebecca became pregnant and gave birth to Eddie. Eddie wasn't fully developed, and suffered injuries during birth, so he remained at the hospital for a month in order to recover. After this period, Eddie left the hospital with a slightly contorted face, and a weight problem. This shattered the young couple's hopes at having a son who would carry after them, and this openly showed in the way they treated their son. They became ashamed of him, and often hid him from their friends. After he had his first birthday, they came up with an idea to hide his face. They fashioned a mask made of soft cloth, and told people that their son suffered a skin condition and had to keep it covered. But this still wasn't good enough for them. They continued to mistreat him, and keep him in hiding. This worked relatively well, until Rebecca became pregnant with her second child.
