Getting acquainted

"Oh hell, I didn't mean it like that." Sirius didn't fully understand the other boy's hurt and angry look. "I'm glad you're a mudblood. I've never known one before." He smiled, his best smile, the one that usually got him out of trouble with his mother. It wasn't working on Remus quite as well.
"These comic books," he looked over at Remus to make sure he'd got the name right thins time. Remus wasn't smiling, but he did nod letting him know he was right. "They're brilliant. Wizards don't have anything like this. If you weren't a mudblood, I would have never known about them." Sirius' smile was finally getting a response from Remus.
Sirius knew it was best to keep talking. His father always said he could wear anyone down with his chatter. "You know I have a little brother, Regulus. He's only 8, so he won't be here for a few more years. But when I go home for break, I can show these to him. He'll love them. His favorite stories are always the ones with heroes and big fights. Well, that is if I can borrow one, I mean."
Remus smiled now, the chatter had worked. "Of course you can borrow them. They really don't have any wizarding comics? I always thought my mum just wouldn't get them for me."
Sirius was very relieved to see that his new friend wasn't angry with him anymore. "No we don't have anything like these." He looked down at the book in his hand, imagining it with moving pictures and real sounds. "It's a shame, they would be amazing, don't you think?"
Remus' head popped up, unrestrained enthusiasm written on his face. "We could make them! I can draw well enough and I am sure that we could come up with a million ideas for stories."
Sirius, caught up immediately by Remus' fervor, began planning. "After diner we can go to the library and start looking for the charm to animate art, because I don't think they'll teach us that first year. Do you think we can have one done before break?" Remus nodded and Sirius thought how lucky he was to have been roomed with a boy as cool as Remus.
