Remus Lupin's heart was beating a mile a minute. He just had an
encounter with the
one girl had had loved since his first year at Hogwarts. He was now in his
fifth year and
still hadn't managed to talk to her. He silently made his way to the
Gryffindor tower with
his thoughts on his love. He almost told her, but he couldn't speak and his
mouth had
went dry. He couldn't stop thinking about her long brown hair and her big
green eyes.
"Are you going to stand there, or can I go back to sleep?" The Fat Lady's
voice broke into his thoughts.
"Sorry," he muttered blushing,"Bezoar."
The portrait swung open and he climbed through the hole. The common room
was
empty except for two guys in a corner speaking quietly.
"Remus, hey, we were talking over what we were going to do tomorrow night, being full moon and all. Moony, what's wrong." Sirius, who had been talking excitedly noticed the distant look on Remus' face. James looked at Remus beaming.
"What are you smiling about? Exactly what is going on here?" asked Sirius as he looked from Remus to James. Still smiling James replied, "I believe that our little Moony has fallen in love!" At these words Remus blushed violently, "I just ran into her. Literally, ran right into her." Sirius suppressed a laugh," So, what's her name?" Remus shook his head and headed for the dorm. As he changed into his pajama pants And lay on top of the covers he noticed only one other person in the room snoring lightly. 'That's weird," he thought, 'where's Peter?'
He didn't know when he had fallen asleep, but when he awoke his clock read 10:05. Slowly, it dawned on him that it was only Friday. He jumped out of bed pulling on clothes. "Man, I'm late for Tranfiguration! McGonagall's going to kill me!" He grabbed his bag and sprinted out the tower. Ten minutes later his burst into the Tranfiguration room, expecting to be yelled at, he was shocked to find that McGonagall wasn't there. He took his seat next to Sirius.
"Why didn't you wake me?" he asked hitting Sirius on the head. Slapping his hand away Sirius replied, "Well, you were tossing and turning all night, so I thought it best if you go some sleep. It's okay. McGonagall hasn't even been in here yet." Trying to catch his breathe, Remus noticed that he had forgotten his Prefect badge. 'Oh well," he thought. Shrugging he pulled out his wand and waited. McGonagall burst through the door with her lips drawn tight. Remus had never seen her look more angry.
"Put away your wands." She tapped the black board and her small, tidy handwriting appeared. "Today you will take notes." She fell into her chair behind the desk and watched the class. Twenty pages of complex notes later James, Sirius, and Remus were making their way to the North Tower for Divination. The lesson as always, was as boring as the last. James and Sirius were quietly dueling with their quills, Remus however, choose to just sleep through the whole thing. He awoke right when Professor Vablatsky told them to put away their charts. Remus found that he had drooled on his.
"Dang." He muttered as he tried to wipe it off and smeared his work. James snickered and pulled his quill out as Sirius' nose. It accidentally got lodged in when Sirius bent to put away his chart.
