A light snow was falling, catching in the lashes of young children outside playing in the streets. A man sat tall upon the tower to the main entrance of the villiage watching them all intently and hungrily. He crouched low to the top so that he wasnt as visible to the laziest of eyes. His cloak clung to him as the winds blew against his back. He crawled down the side of the tower in a lizard-like fashion. Carefully he slithered his way to the side where some bushes could conceal him.
He was just about to grab for a young boy playing with tiny colored glass balls when a woman caught his eye. She was fair and young. Her hair was shining pale against the moon that was just rising. Normally children and woman would not be out at such an hour, but it was a beautiful night. He choked for a moment.
'I must have her. For she is more fair than anything I have ever seen in my years of coming.' Again he grabbed for the boy with sucess. He did fuss a little, but the man cupped a hand over his mouth. The young boy bit him, but the man was used to this by now, and so away he stole with the boy. He climbed back up the tower wall and away into the night he went.
The next morning, there was a great turmoil in the village. For they had realised the young boy was missing, he hadnt come in to sup with his family the fortnight and they were growing fearful that the worst was happening. However they daren't speak the accursed beast's name who took the boy from his family. They only feared that he would come back for more. Little did they know, it would only be a matter of hours for his next victim. And she had no knowledge of anything that was even happening.
