Botan sat outside her home in the human world when she saw Yuske, Kuwabarra, Kuramma, Koenma, Yukina, and Hiei walking toward her. She smiled and waved at them all. "Hey you guys, what are you doing here?" "Well, a problem has come up in demon realm and we need you to lead the team there." Koenma said sitting down on the steps to the porch. (He's in his teenage form.) "Of course Koenma sir, but, what type of problem is it." "A hoard of demons has surfaced, each with the power of the final St. Beast." Hiei said with his eyes closed. "I think I should take this one by myself." "No Hiei, you need our help." Yuske said putting a hand on Hiei's shoulder. "I said I'll do it on my own." Hiei walked off toward the portal to demon realm. "Hiei, what's gotten into you?" "Nothing." Hiei walked down the road before stopping. "Why are you following me you ferry onna." Botan stopped walking. "I just wanted to know why you were acting this way." Hiei turned to Botan, "None of your business." "HEY!! I have a right to know why your acting so cold toward everyone, I have to explain it!!" Hiei turned to Botan again and pulled the headband from over his Jigan eye. "Those bastards were the ones who gave me this damn eye and cursed me with the nightmares I have every night. I'm going to destroy them all with my own two hands, I don't want any help. Was that plain enough for you?" Botan paled for a moment, "Yes, I'm sorry." Hiei started to walk away but felt a hand on his shoulder. "What?" "Take this with you, it'll keep you in contact with everyone here." Hiei took the communicator and put it in his pocket. "Thanks." He whispered as he walked through the portal. Botan went back to the house and sat down on the swing to talk to Koenma and the others. About two weeks later Hiei came stumbling back, battered and bruised. He fell unconscious at Botan's feet.
