Hard Opponent...
Goku and Gojyo were sounding asleep in one room. Sanzo and Hakkai were fully awake in the other. One was smoking near the window, and the other was patting his pet on the bed. Two were snoring. Hakkai and Sanzo could not sleep because of the rain. The rain. A hatred day for both Sanzo and Hakkai. The saru and the kappa could sleep because of the breeze. "I'm going to sleep first, Sanzo. Oyasumi nasai." A 'hn' was heard from Sanzo. At five o'clock in the morning, footsteps were heard walking past Hakkai and Sanzo's room and stopped in front of Goku and Gojyo's room. 'It' opened the door and entered the room 'it' had stopped at.
Sanzo, being a light sleeper, heard the footsteps and ignored it, thinking it was just the saru. A sudden squeal was heard from the other room. Sanzo had an unwanted feeling in his heart. A feeling of fear. He got out of bed and dashed into the saru and kappa's room. He slammed the door open. Ha saw Goku, soaked with blood, in the clutches of a guy wrapped with bandages. "You want him back, Sanzo? Come and get him. Meet me at the hill, which has rocks surrounding it, near the river." With a snap of his fingers, he disappeared. "Matte!" Goyjo jolted up hearing the sound of shouting. He looked around and saw Sanzo. "What's with all the shouting, namaguza bouzu? It...five in the morning." Sanzo didn't reply. He went into his room and asked Gojyo to dress up.
"Would you mind telling me what is this all about? And where was the saru? Why did you leave him?"
"Please, Gojyo. We'll tell you later."
They drove and drove. Soon, they reached a hill. Rocks were around the hill. There, at the top, was the man. Goku was in his arms. Blood dripped from Goku's fingers. "Goku!" shouted Gojyo. It was a horrifying scene. Blood. All over the boy's body. "Teme...let go of him!" shouted Gojyo again. "The sutra first."
"Never."
"Then, no Goku."
"Sanzo... Give the sutra. Goku is really injured. He...might not last long. We can fight for it again after getting Goku back," whispered Hakkai to Sanzo.
"Fine." Sanzo threw the sutra at the guy with the bandages.
"Thank you. Here. You threw the sutra, so I throw the boy. Catch him."
"Goku!" shouted the three of them.
Gojyo leaped up and safely caught Goku. He lay the boy on the ground and let Hakkai heal him. Gojyo and Sanzo quickly chased after the man. Soon, after chasing the man for a mile or two, they got him cornered. 'Co...come on, guys. Can't take a joke?'
"Joke!? You hurt our friend badly and you called that a joke!?"
"Here. I'll give you back the sutra. Let's forget and forgive, shall we?"
"Sure. After we kill you."
"I'm...I'm sorry! Forgive me. I didn't mean to hurt your friend."
"You think after what you had done to him, you could get away with it? Dream on."
Sanzo and Gojyo killed the demon. Never did they thought that a weak demon like that was brave enough to threaten them. But, they suspected something was wrong. A guy that scared couldn't have done that much injury to Goku. If he was so scared, he shouldn't have threatened them. They checked the sutra. It was a fake! So that guy was a decoy.
"Did you guys get him?" asked Hakkai.
"We thought we did but he used his man as a decoy so he could get away from us."
"So what should we do?"
"Search for him tomorrow. We had better bring the saru back to the inn. He needs a rest."
"Not only him. All of us does."
