This little fic came out of my desire to make Kyp and Jaina something. Not
a couple per se, just give them something more than what they had. And
besides, it sets up some good stuff or any other fics I mgith do with this
pairing.
Jaina looked out the window and sighed. The sky was darkened, and the rain came down hard. It pounded on the roof of the little shack Jaina and Kyp had set up on Mobus. The darkness was creeping up on them. They were alone. Separated from their squadrons and with no weapons they would have to wait it out. Hopefully, someone would hear their force cries soon.
"The rain won't let up Kyp, not anytime soon," Jaina said, feeling uncomfortable at the closeness of the situation. "It smells nice though. The rain is somewhat calming."
"Do you want to cut through it for us? Sword of the Jedi?" Kyp muttered sarcastically.
Jaina sent a reprimand through the force as she tried to contact Jacen again. We're on Mobus. Please come.
Kyp unhooked his belt. It felt unnaturally heavy. "What should we do to fill in the time?"
"Who knows?" Jaina replied. "We could be here for days. Weeks. Years."
"Not months, though?"
"What?" She asked absently.
"You skipped months. You only—nevermind. It's not important," he said not wanting to start anything. "So, you and Jag. That's... good for you."
Jaina turned to face him. "You seem bitter."
"Really I thought I covered it pretty well," he replied, furrowing his brow.
"The Force."
"I know, I was trying to be jokey. Lighten the mood," Kyp muttered.
I'm sorry I didn't tell you, he sent through the Force.
"I'm not going to do that, Kyp. I can't betray Jag that way," she said adamantly.
Kyp moved over next to Jaina. He placed his hand on her shoulder gently. She looked up at her teacher, and smiled sadly. She shook her head.
No. She mouthed the words as they were sent through the Force.
Jaina pushed him away. He grabbed her wrist.
Anger flashed through her eyes. She pushed him away harder this time.
He reached out through the Force to calm her. Don't fight it Jaina! You know you feel it!
She shook her head and moved onto the mattress, her anger simmered for a while before she fell into a restless sleep.
She woke up from her sleep, her forehead drenched in sweat. Her dreams were filled with pain, anger and darkness... the future? She wasn't sure. But Kyp featured a lot in it. Jag was nowhere to be found.
Jaina looked at Kyp, and sensed the sadness filling his heart. She got up slowly, moving as silently as she could across the floor of the shelter.
She draped her arm around him. "Hold me," she told him simply.
Kyp's surprise almost knocked her off her feet. "What happened to 'no?'" He asked somewhat bitterly. "Your precious Jag might get hurt."
She avoided his eyes momentarily. "I know," she replied. "I can't just ignore my heart though. I want to feel..."
Kyp brushed her hair away from her face. "You're beautiful."
She clasped his hand, and moved in front of Kyp, pulling him close. "What if someone comes to rescue us?"
"They'll just have to deal," he murmured as he leant down covering her lips with his own.
She moved in closer, the fire behind the kiss growing as she wrapped her arms around his neck. The kiss grew longer and deeper as Kyp pushed her up against the wall. Jaina wrapped her legs around Kyp's waist and began to take of his jumpsuit.
"You're taught me so much," Jaina muttered from under the blanket. "Thank you."
She kissed him lightly on the forehead as he looked up at the ceiling.
"The rain," he started. "It's stopped."
