The thing about forgiveness
By: snowfox and redwolf
"If I see a gorilla I'll be sure to arrest him."
Disclaimers: Despite popular belief, Get Backers is neither owned by me nor by the masses that wish they did. I just write fics and eat ice cream on a daily basis. Go sue me.
"I said I was sorry!" Shido's arms nearly hit the maid that opened the door as he and Madoka stormed into the mansion, "What more do you want?"
Madoka's free hand was on top of her mouth, pressing in an attempt to keep from crying, "Nothing Shido! Stop apologizing already; I know what you think about my cooking and that's that."
"Madoka-chan…"
"Stop it Shido," She stood, head bent, in the middle of the hall. The maid had left them to their dispute and she felt the overwhelming disappointment eat at her once more. It wasn't her fault she couldn't cook, she was just never taught.
They had just returned from the Animal Shelter after the monkey incident, and the last they saw of the invincible Get Backers, the two of them were in their own separate cells, with not a cent to bail them out. Shido felt they could rot there forever for all he cared; it was their fault for not telling him sooner that Madoka made that lunch for him, they didn't even try to stop him as he insulted her food.
He growled to himself and turned harshly to face the open double doors, "Listen. Madoka. I didn't mean to offend you but I'll leave for a while to let you calm down. I hope you forgive me."
The blind girl bit her lower lip, trying to hold in the urge to yell at Shido. Doubting if she could hold her feelings in if she spoke she kept quiet, a cue for the Beast Master to continue if he had anything left to say to her.
"Goodnight Madoka."
"Shido…" She spun around in time to feel the cold wind blow past her pale face as she heard the deafening noise of the empty silence, "…kun."
BTW, think of this as the after math of the monkey thing. = P Review. It'll be longer next time.
