Storyline: Set in season 6, after Tabula Rosa, Giles and Buffy have just said goodbye. Suddenly she realizes that she can't lose him. (Buffy/Giles relationship/angst)

Buffy ran through the airport as fast as her feet could carry her. She nearly knocked 4 people over, not to mention fighting the urge to punch a security guard who held her up.

Then, she saw him, sitting in the waiting area for his flight to England. He was stoic looking as always, and was reading a book (again as always). She needed him... she couldn't let him leave her. Yet words had not worked. It was time for plan B. She took a deep breath as she tried to calm down. Part of her was scared to death of what she was about to do, but a larger part of her was scared to death about how she would carry on without him. She couldn't lose him. While their relationship had been strained at points over the years, he was still the person she felt closest to in the world after Dawn. She had lost her mom, she had lost Riley and Angel and she was not about to lose Giles. She closed her eyes for a moment, took a deep breath and walked to her watcher.

"Giles" she said, apparently startling him.

"Buffy... what are you.."

She cut him off. "You can't leave."

"We went through this before. I have to leave. I don't want to, but its for the best," replied Giles as he took off his glasses and cleaned them.

"I need you."

"That's precisely why I have to leave Buffy. You can't rely on me for everything. You.."

Again, the Slayer cut him off. "No Giles, I NEED you"

"Wh..what are you saying Buffy?" he asked wondering if her last comment had meant what he had thought it meant. He figured it couldn't possibly be what she meant until that thought was interrupted, by Buffy kissing him full on the lips.

He wanted to push her away, to tell her this was wrong. He wanted with every fiber of his being to tell her that he was old enough to be her father and that though she was a beautiful young woman, this was not appropriate. Yet he didn't. His body and his heart betrayed his mind and the normally staid and logical watcher let passion overtake him, kissing his Slayer with more force and passion than even she had expected.

What the moment passed, they pulled away from eachother, neither knowing what to say next. Buffy spoke first. "So you'll stay?".

"How can I not?"
