Author's note!
Hey, folks! This is officially my first fan fic ever posted, and I am sooo
happy! I've had this idea in my head for a while, and I am so relieved to
get it out! It won't leave me alone! Okay, this fic is dedicated to my
friend Emily, who loves SesshouMaru almost as much as I do! But not nearly.
Sorry, Em, close but no cigar. And also, to SesshouMaru!

InuYasha sat cross-legged in a tree near the Bone-Eater's Well. He was waiting for Kagome, but he would be damned if he told anyone that. His amber eyes were at the moment closed, and it almost looked as if he were asleep. He was immobile; even Shippo's constant jibbering and annoying antics couldn't get InuYasha to respond. Shippo had eventually given up trying to rouse him and ran off in search of Kirara.
Soon InuYasha was aware of a small whir of noise, almost inaudible, coming from the bottom of the well. Kagome was here. He jumped down from the tree silently and was heading toward the well when he stopped, his eyes wide. His keen nose flared, smelling a demon. It was in the well with Kagome!
He drew the Tetsusaiga and jumped down into the well. "Kagome, watch out!" He prepared to swing. A scream filled the air.
"SIT!!!" Kagome's command rose above the scream. InuYasha instantly fell face first into the well's bottom. He then heard, as he couldn't see at the moment, Kagome's soothing words to the creature that he had been going to destroy. "Shh... it's okay...Don't worry, Emily."
InuYasha raised his head weakly. Kagome's command had been powerful this time. He saw Kagome facing a tall girl with long, poofy brown hair. The girl didn't look like the Japanese humans he was accustomed to seeing. She was shaking from her close encounter with InuYasha. Kagome spun and glared at InuYasha. "InuYasha, you jerk! You scared Emily half to death!"
"E...Emily?" InuYasha had difficulty pronouncing the foreign name. He pushed himself up and studied this "Emily" girl. Her eyes were a greenish color with specks of brown and were looking at him with recovering fear. He sniffed the air once more. The demon energy was coming from her. He drew his Tetsusaiga once more. "Get away from her, Kagome, she's a demon."
Suddenly he was hit upside the head with Kagome's fist. "I know that, you idiot!" Before he could respond with a hearty insult, Shippo's small head was seen looking over the top of the well. "K..Kagome?"
"Is she in there, Shippo?" A female voice approached, sounding worried.
Shippo nodded. "Yeah, and so is InuYasha."
Another voice approached, this time male. "That would explain the scream."
The female voice growled. "You pervert!"
InuYasha had then jumped out of the well. Kagome started to climb the wall and was followed soon afterward by the strange girl Emily. Emily had some difficulty climbing but didn't give up until she was over the well's wall. Kagome was hugging the small creature, Shippo. Kagome saw Emily climb over the wall at last and smiled. "Everyone, this is Emily. She's from my world."
Emily gave a weak smile. "Hello, fellow human beans." The group of people just stared. Kagome sweatdropped. InuYasha growled.
"Kagome, why did you bring another demon to our time? We have enough here to spare."
Kagome glared and Emily looked frustrated. Sango looked uncomfortably in Emily's direction, sensing now what she hadn't a few moments ago. "You're..."
Shippo hopped down from Kagome's arms. Miroku looked hard at Emily. Kagome looked at evryone and sighed. "I felt her energy and decided to bring her here for your inspection."
"Inspected? I feel like a germ..."
Shippo looked confused. "What's a g...germm...?"
InuYasha growled once more. "She's a demon. End of story. Send her back home!" He was clenching his teeth at Kagome. Kagome glared. "Sit." InuYasha was slammed into the ground again. "Ugh..."
Emily laughed this time. Miroku smiled and so did Sango. Miroku gave an airy laugh. "She doesn't seem dangerous. Let's let her stay."
Sango nodded and Shippo was already introducing himself to Emily. Kagome smirked at InuYasha, who was still on the ground, his head in his hands. And then, just to be evil, she gave an evil smirk and yelled, "SIT!!"
