"Messy, messy..."
"I think this is more then messy, Dee."
"Guessing mass murder?"
"I'm guessing the same thing..."
They were looking on a scene where twenty bodies were made in a cross. They were all boys besides the one in the middle. A teenage girl.
"Commissioner!"
Ryo jumped. He looked towards the person who yelled. He saw Rose running over.
"Should we join them?" asked Dee.
"Why not?"
They saw Rose look down in horror. Rose signaled for a stretcher.
"What?"
Dee looked really confused.
"Commissioner? Why signal for that?"
"What? Oh... that girl she was still alive... barely..."
"What?! But didn't they guess that the bodies were about half a day old?!"
"..."
Dee's eyes widened.
"Oh."
To suffer for so long... it's a wonder that she is alive.
"What were her injuries?"
"It looks like she was fighting with them or they could have hit her over and over. There were cuts on her wrists."
"So they were trying to kill her through loss of blood."
"It seems so."
They stood in silence for couple of minutes. Then Dee asked.
"Do you know why they were... arranged like this?"
"This building used to be a church. That's all we know so far."
Ryo looked up. There was little evidence that this place used to be a church.
"I want you two to talk to other people that live around here to see if they saw or know anything."
They left. Not many people lived around here because this was a decaying neighborhood. An old lady answered the door about a block down. She said something that really interested them both.
"Yes, that girl and her little brother were around here for about a week, I was guessing maybe they were runaways for they looked well fed when I first saw them. I asked if they wanted to stay at my house for about two days."
"Did they tell you anything?"
"Well, only about her family. She says that her parents died when she was young but her older brother took care of them. When I asked them why they ran away... well it looked like a dark shadow crossed her face. It was frightening."
They thanked her and went to see if there were any other people around. A younger women said that there were some people around that she never saw before but it was always at night and she never really saw their faces. By the time they made it back to the prescient they had enough information that might solve why this happened. Drake greeted them in Rose's office.
"Hey! Find anything?"
"We found many things. Some disturbing..."
"Oh well Rose said that he would be here soon."
Ryo wasn't startled that Drake used the Commissioners name then saying Commissioner. In, public it was pretty obvious that they were more then friends as Dee and Ryo were. Dee was always glad that Rose gave up on Ryo... Rose walked into the room looking tired and very old.
"So, how was your search?"
"Very fruitful."
"Well? What is it?"
"We will be needing someone to go into the runaway files. It seems that the girl and maybe one of the boys that were killed were runaways. Which reminds me, how is the girl?"
"She's doing fine. They were able to get enough blood in her and they said that there may have been signs of rape... we do not know yet. They say that there was very little blood in her that they were thinking of how she could still be alive. But we still have to find out who she is. When I left she was still out so I was thinking of going back down there myself to see how is doing tomorrow."
"It is pretty impressive... do you think that they could have used some drug to keep her alive?"
"If so then it wouldn't be any drugs that we have on file and they might not want to run the risk of keeping someone alive. When she has enough blood in her and if she is willing then we will be able to get a blood test going."
"If she is willing?"
"We don't want to frighten her more. She was already hurt badly. And not only physically."
Dee saw a sad look in his eyes. He must be remembering his sister. His sister did go through something like this, come to think of it.
"So how about the search? What did you find?"
"Her family consists of a deceased mother and father. Siblings are and older and younger brother."
"Deceased parents? How?"-- Rose
"We do not know yet. It seems they don't even come from this city maybe even this state."--Ryo
"We will know when they look up the files."--Rose
"Sir?"--Ryo
"If they are from another state then they won't appear in the runaway files."--Rose
There was about a minute of silence, until Dee said.
"I'm suspicious of this older brother of hers."--Dee
"Same here."--Ryo
"If they were under the good care of the brother then why run away?"-- Dee
"Do you think the brother would have something to with this, Latyner?"--Rose
"Maybe..."--Dee
"We should find out all the details first."--Rose
"And we will get most of it when she is awake."--Ryo
At the hospital- NO POV
"Her blood loss was great and we haven't been able to return her heart beat to normal. That indicates that there is still too little blood in her."
"... I see..."
"Of what you said earlier?"
"Yes, there are old scares on her back. They seem to be about a month old."
"Before that?"
"... yes."
The doctor shuffled the paper on his desk.
"Well?" asked Rose, irritated.
"Actually, it's very disturbing news," he said softly," there were signs of rape."
"What is so disturbing about that? It's common in these kinds of cases."
"They were years old. Some of her scars are starting to disappear. Over time small scares start to disappear. The scares inside her started to disappear. I was surprised to see that they were about 10 years old."
Silence covered the room.
"But didn't you say she looks to be about 15?"
"Yes..."

Girls POV

Have you ever wondered what it felt like to swim or float in blackness? It feels like you're nothing. No soul. No body, just spirit inside the little black ball of darkness. No memory of who I am. Family? When I think of my family I only feel hatred. Who were they? What is wrong with my body? Do I even have one? I vaguely remember an old looking church. Suddenly I felt something. It was like a pricking. What was that? I tried to see but I couldn't. My eyelids were so heavy, I willed myself to do it. When I did manage it. I saw a doctor kind of person sticking withdrawing a needle that she put in me. She looked up.

No POV

"Did I wake you?"
The girl shook her head. The nurse smiled. She was a young looking woman.
"Can't talk?"
She tried to but couldn't.
"I'll get you some water. That should help at least a little."
She nodded her head in thanks. The nurse nodded at someone outside the door. He saw her confused look at smiled at her.
"I know. I'm not someone you would know. I'm Berkely Rose."
The nurse came back with the water and a pill. She stayed until the girl drank the water and swallowed the pill. After the nurse left the girl cringed.
"Ugh, that was sour."
Rose smiled. She looked up at him.
"Don't take this the wrong way or anything but can I ask why you are here if I don't know you?"
She has some manners thought Rose.
"I'm the Commissioner of the 27th Precinct. I came to ask you some questions."
"Questions?"
"Like how you came to be here."
"... Can I actually ask you one question?"
"Sure."
She looked into his eyes.
"Is my brother dead?"
Rose hesitated but before he can answer she turned away and said.
"He must be if you aren't willing to tell me."
"He is... but I came here to ask you of how your brother died."
She was silent.
"To tell you the truth I can't really remember things much... but I remember this old lady letting us into her house... and an old looking kind of church."
Rose sighed.
"I'm sorry I don't really remember anything."
Rose looked at her still form. His gaze fell to her bandaged wrists.
"Would it be all right if I gave you a number to call if you remember anything?"
"Sure."
When he left the number and returned back to the station, Dee and Ryo were there waiting for him.
"Did you get more information?"--Rose
"Much..."
"Well?"
Ryo picked up a file marked as a missing file.
"Her and her brother came from Ohio. They were sighted mostly by bus... once on a train."
"Ohio?"
"Yes, also she was seen in a market getting a few necessary things for her and her brother. We contacted the police in Ohio and they looked through the files for us but she didn't appear in a runaway file, instead she came up in a missing file."
"Missing?"
"It seems her brother put her down in a missing file but the interesting thing is that he didn't put down his little brother down as well."
"Really? He didn't appear in a different file?"
"No, the little boy was never mentioned."
Dee opened the missing file and took a few paper. He handed them to Rose.
"Those are the autopsy reports for the boys. Many were bruised and battered and some contained signs of rape. Now this isn't anything new but some of the people in this case found a interesting thing."
Ryo got out a paper that had a layout of the arranged bodies.
"The ones on the end of the crosses were the healthiest. Not many bruises just a few and those were it. How they died was either through poison or loss of blood. Same for the ones that were surrounding the girl were also healthy. Just the occasional bruise and that's about it."
Rose looked at the paper trying to see if he could get anything else out of the pattern. They heard a phone ring outside and someone answering it.
"Is there-"
Someone bursting into his office cut off Rose from what he was about to say.
"Sorry, but a bomb went off at a high school and Ryo it's Bikky's school."
Ryo jumped up.
"Bikky?!"
Chapter 2 When they got to the scene they saw that a teacher was guarding Bikky (or Vikky).
"As usual he wanted to be the first one to get to the scene and what he saw I bet wasn't pretty."
Ryo did see that Bikky looked a little pale under his tan skin. Ryo took Bikky home while Dee got some info on what happened. Rose sighed.
"2nd bomb here... this school going to get destroyed if more bombs come off here."
JJ came up to Rose and handed him a piece of paper.
"From one of the detectives."
Rose's eyes scanned the page getting more and more pale as his eyes went down. Rose cleared his throat and tried to regain his composure. He handed the report back and decided to walk into the scene when he was joined by Dee.
"News?"
"It seems that a body was found after the bomb went off."
"Same location?"
"No, they found the girls body in a classroom."
"Huh. Far away from the bomb?"
"No, maybe a couple of rooms down. I believe Ryo's child, Bikky, was the one to find her."
They walked into the scene and Dee saw the body. He stopped.
"Wait, where's the blood?"
Rose looked at Dee.
"What?"
"She was drained of her blood."
"Like a vampire?!"
Dee saw the cut on her throat. A little blood was still sluggishly coming out of it.
No one noticed as a shadow slipped away.
Ryo's House
Ryo brought water to Bikky and sat down with him.
"You ok?"
"Just shaken up..."
"I wonder what happened."
Bikky's body shook with a shiver.
"Bikky?"
"I knew that girl that was killed. Her and Carol were good friends."
Then Bikky jumped up.
"I have to go to Carol... to make sure she's all right."
Ryo smiled and nodded his head. Bikky rushed out to go to Carol's. Right when he left the phone rang.
"Hello?"
"Ryo?"
"Yea."
"How's Bikky?"
"He's going to Carols."
"You have to get him back!"
Ryo jumped at the seriousness of Dee's voice. He hung up the phone and ran out. When he got out he made towards Carol's house at a run. He saw a flash of gold up ahead him and he knew he was catching up to him.
"Bikky!"
He turned.
"Huh? Ryo what are you-"
A black figure jumped out of a window ahead and grabbed Bikky.
"Bikky!!"
Ryo jumped towards him and tried to get the figure to let go of Bikky but when his fist collided with the figure his hand went numb even though it didn't feel like he was hurting it it let go. When he let go of Bikky he collapsed.
"Bikky!"

No POV

Dee finished up at the scene and was on his way to Ryo's house when his cell phone started to ring.
"Ryo?"
There was a small pause where Dee heard Ryo talking to someone else.
"Dee?"
"Where are you right now?"
"At the hospital, it seems that someone did attack Bikky..."
"Ryo?"
"How did you know?"
"How did I know what?"
"You called me and told me to go after Bikky."
"I did? I never called you, I was to busy with the scene."
"But it sounded just like you!"
"Ryo... are you sure it was me?"
"I..."
"Just stay there, I'm done here so I'm coming over."
"Ok..."
Ryo paced around until he saw Dee walking down the hallway with a folder under one arm.
"How's Bikky?"
"They said that he could go home today. The person was chocking him. The nurse also said that there were red marks around his neck..."
Dee moved to pull Ryo to him.
"At least he is able to go home today."
"Yea..."
Ryo pulled up his head.
"What happened at the scene?"
"... just a bomb..."
"Dee..."
"And a body."
"Body?"
"The body of a girl. She was just drained of her blood."
"Nothing like before?"
"No... just one body."
A middle-aged woman walked out of a room that was near by.
"Mr. McLain?"
"Yes?"
"There seems to be a problem with the child, Bikky."
"What? What's wrong?"
"The marks around his neck started to change colors and is spreading around his body."
"And?"
"And he is having trouble breathing. He has an irregular heart beat-"
"Is his eyesight gone?"
Dee turned to see the girl Sakura next to him.
"You're out?"
"I'm not fully well but I'll be alright. I'm supposed to go to your headquarters tomorrow."
"Wait, how did you know about Bikky?"
"Because the same thing happened to my brother. It's a really nasty chemical that if it touches your skin for even a second then you will start to have problems with your body. For each person it touches there is a different symptom. The only thing that stays the same are the marks spreading around your body and the loss of eyesight. What?"
Everyone was looking at her.
"Ok, let me remind you that I was in their company for a while so I know all these things. Where are my stuff that you guys took from the scene?"
"Your bag is at the precinct."
"Please don't tell me you went through it?"
"I think some people did. Why?"
"Because your boy's cure is in there."
"Cure?"
"The occult that I stayed with made several chemicals that they tested out on some of there... special members but for each one that they made they made an antidote. For each chemical and antidote they made I made sure that I had I had at least a couple of vials of. I didn't think they would come into use but here is it's chance. If your people looked through it then they probably took it to your lab or whatever."
"They did..."
"No, please don't tell me that thing will kill Bikky."
"Then I guess I won't tell you."
Ryo looked stunned.
"I do know what will help back it off though."
"What?"
"Just stick and iv in him. It should give me enough time to get my stuff back."
"Uhh... I don't know if we will be able to get your stuff back..."
Sakura whirled to face him with a glare.
"What?!"
"Your stuff is probably in the labs in the FBI department. I can't go there unless I have permission from Rose."
"Then get it!"
"We will need an excuse to go down to their lab."
"Just say you want to know what they are doing down there."
"We get reports from them daily."
"Wait, why can't you just tell them it's to help a civilian?"
"Because unless they know what's in there, they won't give it to us."
"Then, I guess I just have to sneak in there."
"No, no you can't. What if you get caught?"
She shrugged. It was then that Rose walked in.
"Laytner, Ryo." He nodded to them, "Why are you two here?"
"Bikky is hurt."
"Hurt?"
"Something from the occult."
"Is it bad?"
"... I really don't know."
"He will eventually die if I don't get it."
"Get what?"
Rose looked around confused. Dee explained.
"Ah... I see. I don't think I can give you an excuse to go there.
"I can't think of anything either."
"I told you, I'm going to sneak in there."
"You can't do that. It's there headquarters; they have maximum security there. You can't sneak in there."
"Wait, I can get you in there."--Rose
"Huh?"
"Diana is there tomorrow. You can go then."
"What? What is the excuse?"
"You just have to give something to her for me."

At the FBI headquarters

"So... I can go in there?" asked Sakura.
"Yes, you can. You were the victim, you weren't with them."
The girl stood in front of the building, silent.
Inside, someone directed them to Diana's office.
"Hello there, Dee and..." Diana looked at the girl.
"Sakura."
Diana nodded. Dee handed her the report of the case they were on.
"Ohhh... I get it..."
"Get what?"
"Who she is."
"What were you thinking before?"
"Hmmm... nothing."
"?"
Diana flipped through the papers.
"So what am I supposed to do with this?"
"Well, really it's an excuse to come here. We need something form the labs."
"Labs? Like what?"
"Inside my bag there were some vials wrapped in some clothes. I need those."
"I see. Well I can get you down there but I don't have the permission to let you in there. I can get one of the doctors to let you in."
"Thanks a lot Diana."
"No problems... but I hope you know that you owe me."
"huh?"
Diana laughed.
"I shall get it later in private."
Sakura stayed silent.
Diana led them down to an underground room where a man was sitting at a table. When he looked up he smiled.
"Is there something I can do for you Diana?"
"Yes, actually there is. Do you have those chemical vials that the NYPD has brought in just recently?"
"Well, yes we do... why?"
"Well... there is a special case going on right now and can I see them?"
"I need them all."
The professor looked at the girl.
"Who-"
"She was a victim to one of those chemicals and now a friend of ours has got it. We need the cure."
"Well then... has the head approved this?"
"Well... no... can you help us?"
The man looked at Diana.
"Of course. Follow me."
"Thank you so much."
The man nodded. The vials were handled in on of the big chemical rooms. The people who worked there made them where gloves and masks. Sakura took off the mask.
"They don't have air spores so its fine." She responded when the scientist gave her a horrified look.
Sakura walked down the counter with them until she saw her chemicals. The people were still working but stopped when they saw her. She looked at her original vials.
"This isn't enough. The people here have taken most of it out."
"Not enough?!."
But the girl didn't hear Dee. She was in thinking about her time with them. How they created it... but she couldn't remember it but she did remember a small thing that might help... a lot.
"Do you think you can get me a flight to Maine?"

Chapter 3

"Where is she?!"
"We do not know... we left her there to die thinking she was only another child of the ritual, how were we to know that she was the chosen one?!"
"Our lord will be furious... just find out if she is dead... if she is then we will have to provide a substitute."
"Someone that he will accept... we will go find her."
At hospital
"So why is it that you need that flight?"
"There are some things there that might cure Bikky but it might take some time... I don't know if we have enough time though."
"How about the stuff at the lab?"
"I brought it along with me but it only works for about 3 days and I don't know if it will take longer then that."
"Go... we will give him this and then we will see from there on what will happen."
"... I'm sorry..."
Ryo rested his hand on her shoulder saying that she did enough.
"What I'm worried about though is if you have a place to stay."
"..."
"You don't have a place do you?"
"I'm friends with some people here but it's been a while since I've seen them. I think they think I'm dead."
"Then, just do this. Stay at my place."
"But..."
"No buts, you are an important part of this case. We need you, you can't help us if you are dead."
"..."

Dee's place

"If you want you can sleep in one of the guest rooms."
"No, I actually want to sleep on the couch... to me that's more comfortable."
Dee shrugged.
"All right, you are the guest."
"Hopefully not for long. Where's Ryo?"
"Still at hospital. He said he would call when he finds out how Bikky is doing."
"All right. Well going to go change and... yeah."
She walked away while Dee went to his room. While Sakura was changing she noticed that her injured arms were not throbbing anymore. She sighed. Even though she has found some people to take care of her, she still felt so lonely. Eric was gone and she didn't want to go back to her so called home. She shuddered at the thought of going back.
"Never again." She muttered.
On the couch she pulled the sheets over her head to go to sleep but the images wouldn't go away.

No POV

Dee tried to wake her up but to no avail. He sighed.
"Isn't she going to be late for the flight if she isn't awake by now?" asked Ryo.
"No, we still have a couple of hours."
"Do you still have to go with her?"
"Yes, Ryo I do. Rose is coming to. We have to make sure that while she's there she won't get killed."
"I'm going to miss you here."
Dee turned to face him.
"Just make sure you watch over Bikky."
Ryo nodded but in his head he still worried.
"Call me when you get there all right?"
Dee nodded and gently kissed Ryo.
"Don't worry. Everything will be alright."
Dee shook Sakura.
"Sakura!!!! Get up!!!!"
"I'm up you fool. Stop yelling in my ear!"
Sakura was able to get off the couch and realized that she had to change in order to leave the house
"How much longer until flight?"
"About 3 hours."
"Fun.... Wait whose going?"
"Me, and Rose."
Sakura turned to face him.
"No, no you can't go."
"What, why not?!"
"You have people who love you here. If you get killed there then I have to come home in order to tell Ryo that you died!!!! I will not have that burden on me!!!"
Dee was stunned but he still shook his head and he said that he was still going. Dee thought, "exactly how dangerous is this mission?!" Rose came 30 minutes later into a room that was filled with Dee and Sakura yelling at each other. Ryo was on the couch looking concerned but amused at the same time.
"What the hell is going on here??!!"
When Sakura heard Rose she stopped but continued to glare at Dee. He made sure he was an arms length away from her.
"He can't go!"
Rose raised an eyebrow.
"And why not?"
"If he dies then things will get worse for me here."
"Dee is capable to protecting himself. There is no need to worry."
Sakura turned away after giving him a glare to get changed. Rose stared after her.
"So what exactly are we doing there?"
"I have no idea. I thought she would tell you since she stayed her for the night."
"Nope, not a word,"
"Well it has to be something dangerous if she doesn't want you to go."
"She mentioned being killed.... Maybe I shouldn't go after all."
"You are coming no matter what." Rose turned to Ryo. "How is Bikky?"
"He's doing ok. The little bit of antidote is working a little. He's getting a little better but not enough that he can be taken out of intense care."
Rose nodded. Sakura walked out still fuming but she knew that there was nothing she could do about it.
"You will eventually tell us why we are going aren't you?"
"I will when we get there."
Dee narrowed his eyes not really trusting her response. Sakura only looked at him blankly.
"I warned you. You can get hurt."
"Dee..."
"Ryo, I'm still going."
"The flight is soon. Lets leave."
Rose followed Sakura when she left. Dee hung back a little to comfort Ryo.
"I'm sorry, but I have to go. Please, look over Bikky for me and stay out of trouble here. My cell phone will always be on and so is Rose. Call me if you are in trouble."
Ryo nodded. Dee had to stop fretting over if he should go or not he made his decision. He had to go to save Bikky.
On the plane Sakura thought over her plane step by step so that she didn't miss a little detail.
"It has to work..."
She tried to sleep through the flight but her mind was filled with to many thoughts. She then felt eyes' staring at her but only thought it was Rose or Dee so she ignored it but the feeling was too strong to be either of them. She turned around but she didn't see anybody. Dee next to her was asleep and Rose, behind her was doing something that she didn't know about. She shifted to her left side so that she was facing Dee. Her back was to the window, she was grateful for that. There was a third person that was a little boy but he was asleep as well. The little boy looked to be about 8. The same age as Eric... Sakura looked away to stare at Dee. He shifted but not so much that she wasn't able to see his face. As she stared at him she saw something sparkle under his shirt. She moved so that the sun was totally on it. It was a necklace that held a dove charm. There was something inscribed on it but she didn't need to read it to know what it said. She moved again so that the sun didn't reflect on it. She started to shake.
"That necklace... no."
She buried her head into her hands, holding back the tears that were about to overwhelm her. The memories were too much she couldn't push them out of her mind. She felt a shift at her right. When she looked up, she saw Dee looking at her with... concern?
"You all right?'
She shook her head.
"What happened?"
Dee sat up straighter as he watched her. Sakura couldn't trust her voice so she motioned it with her hands. She pointed to her neck and held her own cross necklace, then pointed to him. Dee pulled the necklace from inside his shirt.
"This?"
She cringed when she saw it but nodded her head.
"What?"
He put it back into his shirt when he saw that the necklace was making her draw away from him.
"Where did you get it?"
"At an adoption center that I was at before... why?"
"That place doesn't exist anymore..."
"Of course, it was torn down."
She shook her head.
"No, it wasn't torn down, someone planted a bomb in it and it killed the people inside."
Dee froze.
"Everyone?"
She nodded.
"I'm sorry, I was there and I couldn't stop it."
"You were there?!"
"The people who blew it up were... friends of my brother."
"Brother... as in older brother?"
She glared at him.
"Who else? Eric would never do anything like that!"
Dee just nodded his head, not at all surprised by her tone of voice. His mind was currently on the fact that the people who called him told him that it was torn down... were they trying to spare his feelings or was it so that he wouldn't get in the way? The pilot came on the intercom and told everyone to buckle up; they are going to be landing soon. The people rummaged around to get ready for the landing.

No POV

At the airport Dee called Ryo to tell him that they were there. Sakura was with Rose looking over his shoulder as he consulted the police of Maine. The man nodded and handed him a piece of paper.
"This is the phone number of our best police station in our district. Other stations I do not know of. Sorry if I couldn't be any more help you all."
"No, you did the best you could do, thanks."
The police nodded and walked away, wishing them a nice stay. As Rose and Sakura walked away the man reached inside his pocket to take out a cell phone.
"They're here."
"Good, if you want you can kill them. Just bring the girl back alive. "
The man hung up and walked away smirking.
Dee hung up after touching bases with Ryo. Sakura looked at him with anxious eyes.
"Bikyy..."
"The same as when we left him."
Sakura let out a sigh but then realized that there was still a lot of things to do.
"I got us a hotel before we came and we are booked for about 3 days."
"I only need a 2 days."
"You only need?"
"Huh? Oh... nothing."
Rose narrowed his eyes. She was definitely keeping something from them. He also knew that there was something going on between Sakura and Dee. Sakura was avoiding Dee's eyes and vice-versa. They took a taxi to the station. After talking to them of there case and identifying that they were indeed part of the police force in New York, they provided for Dee and Rose a car and also access to there labs down below (Sakura insisted they have access to it) Of course the people there frowned upon having the girl order then around a little but Rose didn't seem to mind so they said nothing.

No POV

At the hotel they checked in and saw to it that everyone was comfortable. It was around the late afternoon and Dee was just plain tired. A soon as they entered the room he flopped down onto one of the beds. He then noticed that there were only two beds.
"Wait a minute... why are there two beds only?"
"Because one of us will be sleeping on a cot, Latyner."
Dee sat up but before he could say anything Sakura said.
"I will."
She took off her jacket, it was cold out even though it was around April. She felt Rose look at her.
"Are you sure?"
"Yup, I'm used to it. Used to do it all the time."
"Oh..."
Sakura smiled at Rose.
"Really its ok."
After they went downstairs to eat they realized that it was getting a little late to do anything and every one of them was feeling a little tired. In there room once more, they got the cot prepared for Sakura to sleep in as she showered. When she came out fully dressed to sleep, wearing a take top and long jogging pants that Carol gave her, Dee saw the numerous scars upon her arms. He wasn't particularly stunned since he read the report but it still made him wonder how she could go through all that alone. Sakura felt Dee look at her.
"What?"
"Huh? Oh, nothing."
Sakura turned around and rummaged around at a small round table near the air vent. Rose looked over her shoulder to see what she was doing. She was setting up a little incense burner. At Roses questioning noise she said that it helped her to sleep. She used it when she was in the occults hold. Rose picked up the little bag of red powder. He smelled it and sneezed, feeling a little nauseous. Sakura looked at him with amusement.
"You aren't supposed to smell it out of the bag. Its only for burning."
Rose coughed.
"Now you tell me this."
She smiled.
Soon everyone was asleep... but Sakura. When she was sure that Dee and Rose was asleep she slipped out of her cot to walk over to them.
"I'm sorry but you can't get involved."
She kissed Dee lightly on the forehead as if he was a child.
"I'm sorry I couldn't save your home."
She walked away to the little incense burner. She added a little more of the soothing powder and walked away to change. She left the two of them in a deep sleep and walked to the elevator to go down to the lobby. She stood in the lobby and waited. People walked by with out noticing that she stood there. Only one man was interested in her. Watching her. After awhile he walked over to her. He whispered in her ear and took her hand. From far away it almost seemed as if they were a couple.

Chapter 4

"You finally came to me."
"I came against my will."
At the moment, Sakura and another man were in an abandoned hotel. Many people, women and men, were all around the room. Watching silently at the girl and there leader. All wore a metal armband that had a cross etched into it. A chandler hung from the ceiling. It was evident that they were standing in the lobby of the hotel. There were at least sixty people in the room. Some left while others arrived. Sakura was shaking. She knew that showing her fear was a bad thing to do but she couldn't help it. Her face showed nothing of her fear. The man that stood in front of her was a tall man. At least six feet, his hair was black in the dark. His eyes were hard and cold as he stared at her. He was unusually thin but when walking towards her you could see the muscle the man has worked up during the years. His slender fingers gripped her chin as he tried to search her eyes. When he touched her he could feel her body tense.
"She knows what we are planning." He thought.
He frowned.
"Why did you come back?" he asked her.
"I came back because I have nothing left to do. No home, no family." She responded in a hard voice.
"You do have family."
He swept his arm behind him. A man that was in his late teens walked out, he was tall but not too tall. His hair was like Sakura. His face structure was like Sakura's. As soon as she saw him she started to back away.
"No..."
"Do you not count me as family?" the boy asked.
"I don't..."
He pretended to look hurt but it only lasted a second, it was soon replaced with a smirk of hate.
"You know I never gave you permission to leave the house. You left and got Eric killed."
Sakura flinched at the mention of her younger brothers name.
"I told you only bad things awaited you if you left." He said smiling broadly, happy that he was able to hurt her.
"You blame me for killing my brother and then you ally yourself with the people who drew the knife against his throat." Her voice seething with hatred.
The man's face turned a little grim but other then that he gave no sign that he heard her.
"The people are restless. They want the ritual done and soon. They lust for power."
Sakura turned to watch the others. She saw the hungry look on their faces.
"They've all been feed lies. They were fooled like me." She thought as she saw their faces.
One face though stood out. A face that held desperation and hope. A girls face. She looked like she was beaten. She met Sakura's eyes and ran out.
"The ritual will require two more girls. Some of you go out to find them."
About 5 people ran out to go and pull some random girl of the streets. The older man grabbed her arm in a vice like grip and dragged her to another room. It was smaller, sort of like an office.
"You will stay here. Make yourself comfortable."
She just glared at him. The man smirked and left. She sat down in one of the comfy chairs and closed her eyes.
"Dee and Rose should be awake by now."

At hotel

Dee turned on his side. His head felt all fuzzy but it was going away fast. He then sat up with a start as his cell phone went off. He looked at with malice for waking him up but then saw it was Ryo. His face softened.
"Ryo?"
"Dee, Bikky's getting worse."
The sadness in Ryo's voice made Dee's heart break. He started to regret coming here.
"I'm sorry I can't be there."
"... how's Sakura?"
Dee looked over to her little corner to find her gone. He got up and checked the bathroom to find her gone.
"Shit."
"Dee?'
"She's gone. HEY ROSE!!"
Dee stalked over to his bed. He grabbed his shoulder and jerked him awake.
"What the hell are you doing Latyner?!
"She gone!"
He pointed to the empty bed. Rose just stared at it.
"Shit, no wonder it smelled familiar."
"What?"
Rose got up to walk to the little incense burner. There was no smoke coming out of it.
"It's a sort of drug. She must've died it to look red. The real color is sort of clear. Why didn't I think of it before?!" Rose put down the bag and saw that Dee was talking to Ryo and not paying any attention to what he was saying. Rose sighed. He expected that from lovers. Dee hung up to tell him that Drake and JJ were with Ryo. Rose nodded.
"Good. Let's go down to the lobby to find what happened with her."
Down in the lobby the bar tender said that he saw her with another man.
"He looked a little suspicious but not so much that we were going to get him in trouble." The man scratched his chin. "Come to think of it she did look a little reluctant to go. I just thought that maybe they were couple because they looked to be about the same age."
Rose thanked him and walked away with Dee.
"He said that he never saw him before so it's possible that he's new to the area."
"Him and his little group."
"I have a feeling that they aren't just a little group."
"Even if it's a huge occult I really don't care. We have to find out where they are. They are probably hiding out in an abandoned place."
"Other then the car I guess the police station will be of use."
There they consulted with the Commissioner.
"We have many abandoned area's around here. If you go to a couple of them you will be able to talk to the people who live there."
He handed them a list of the entire abandoned place they know of. Dee nodded as he glanced at it. As they left Dee thought of all the places.
"It has to be a big place." Dee looked at the paper again. "Here's a place. It's an empty apartment. Let's go there as the first place."
Rose nodded. He let Dee handle this one because he knew Dee's back round. There was only one person at the apartment. He told them of a hotel but no one has gone in there for years.
"That just makes it better for them." Dee told him.
The man looked a little confused and why he was being asked this.
"Ah, sorry but can't tell you why."
Dee turned and left with the man scratching his head.
"Big hotel. Straight and it will be to your left he said."
"All right."
They left the car at the corner and walked the rest. As they came closer they saw a lot of people milling around. Some looked at them with hungry eyes. They made sure they didn't go near them. In front of the hotel Dee stopped but Ryo kept walking. He picked up a little ring that was on the ground.
"It's a child's ring. Made of plastic... not metal."
It was dirty and the stone was missing.
"Strange..."
Dee looked at him and saw him in deep thought.
"Better not slip in your thoughts to much or you will get killed or beaten."
Rose nodded and slipped the ring into his pocket. The doors weren't locked so they just slipped inside.
It was like a maze inside but they made it to the back and realized that there was a bunch of people in front of them. Without making a sound they slipped into a room to the side. They then heard a booming voice that made the ground shake. Dee looked out a little and saw an altar sort of thing that was set up in the big space in front of the people. In front of the altar stood a tall man. In his arms he held a girl. Dee's heart stopped but he realized it wasn't her. Slowly his heart regained its regular heartbeat.
"It's time. Bring me her." He said.
Sakura walked out of a room and stood in front of him. Even from far away, Dee could see that they drugged her.
"It's time to start the slaughter..." The man grinned an evil grin and made a hand motion. "Starting with two uninvited guests."
Dee jerked back but he knew that it was too late. The last thing on his mind was Ryo and how he was going to get Sakura out of here alive... and himself.

Background Check

The ritual consists of 7 girls, each one of them small, and black- haired. Sometimes when they cannot find 7 girls of these looks then they change them. The girls have to be willing to do everything the priests say. The girls are tricked into being killed. Many of them are girls who need money or medicine to help a loved one. Sakura was such a girl. Eric, her younger brother was sick. Well dying actually. In his head he had a growing tumor that could be removed through surgery and he'd be fine but Danny, or Dan for short, wouldn't let them. Now, Dan is the oldest sibling. After their parents died, he became a workingman. He paid the taxes and all that. He saw to it that Sakura and Eric kept on going to school. At least that's what everyone on the outside think. Before, Sakura was a social butterfly. She was made to be a leader but also a follower. Almost everyone in the school knew her or have heard about her. In a way she was popular. But all that ended when her parents died. People just though that grief had took her and said that she would get over it. Sadly, she never did get over it. Losing both parents was a big blow to her but matters go worse at home. Her brother made sure her life was a living hell at home. Not many knew the real reason the sad face. Many people didn't want to know because they didn't want to get involved in a grieving person life. They left her alone and that was probably the worst thing that they could have done. Now she turned out the person she is today.

Chapter 6

Without realizing it Sakura feel asleep. When she was asleep the man came back. He didn't want to wake her even if his purpose was with her. He light picked up her wrist and gently pulled back the sleeve. On her wrist was a tight gold band. Etched into it were old symbols, long lost to mankind. He grinned. He took off the band but in doing so woke her up. When Sakura saw what was happening she yelled and tried to take it back.

"It's to late. I have it."
"You will never complete the ritual without the right person!"
"You think I don't know that?"
Sakura froze.
"Yes, child. You are the one. Why do you think we went through all this effort to locate you?"
Sakura didn't think of that.
"We will soon be needing your assistance. If you are not more then willing then we will find a way to get you to... corporate"
She just glared at him. She knew that if she didn't do something soon then she was going to die but she had no way to know how to escape. The man turned and left. Sitting down on the comfy chair she racked her head for a way to get out of here. She just came to a solution but wasn't able to think it through because a man from the occult came in.
"He wants you." He said gruffly.
She glared at him.
"I'm not going to him. You will have to drug me in order to get me out of here."
He grinned.
"We plan on doing that."
He grabbed and hit her over the head. She slumped in his arms. He dragged her into a small white room; you know the one you see in insane asylum. A man standing there saw him and prepared a syringe that was filled with a clear liquid. As soon as he laid the needle on her arm she woke up and snarled at him. She kicked him away. The man holding her wasn't prepared for this so when she struggled against him he let go. She gave him a full blow to the head.
"Exactly how stupid are these people?!"
Sakura was expecting more of a fight but when she looked around there was no one, conscious that is. She quickly looked around the little lab in the room. She was waiting for this exact moment where she could get that antidote for Bikky. She found the little vial and made sure that she pocketed in a safe place where it wouldn't get in the way. She looked around for a place to exit this hellhole but kept on finding dead ends. While searching around she didn't find any people from the occult to stop her.
Soon she got caught up in another dead end.
"Dammit!"
She heard a shuffling noise behind her but before she could turn around she felt a warm hand on her chin.
"Did you really think you could find a way out of here?"
She didn't respond. She then smelled something vial.
"You bitch."
He chuckled softly as she fell.
"You always did have a sensitive nose."
He corked the little bottle and put it in his pocket as he picked her up. He never noticed the vial that was in her pocket. Only thing he could think of was the ritual. It felt like a black cloud was over me. I couldn't find a way out.
"Come to me..."
I spun around. That voice, it was vaguely familiar. I don't remember. I want to but I can't remember. Someone help me. I want to get out of here. I want to a find a place where it's not so dark. I want to go away.
"Come to me..."
Who are you? Why do you call out to me? I feel a breeze against my cheek. I turn to my right. No one. There is no one there. Another breeze.
"Come to me..."
It was the same calling but more urgent. It echoed.
"COME TO ME!"
I clutch my head and curled up into a little ball. I withdraw into my secret place in me. It was the only way I knew how to survive in tough times. I wanted to go away but it won't go away... why am I resisting? Why am I resisting the calling?
I stood up. I follow the voice.
"You are safe. Come to me..."
He felt the last trace of resists go slip away. Sakura sat in front of him. Eyes blank. Nothing was left in her conscious.
"High priest, we bring word of the rituals preparation."
He turned.
"What news?"
"We are almost down. We caught another rat off the street. She fits the descriptions exactly."
"Good, bring in here so I can erase her mind... no. I think we should keep on conscious as we kill her."
"My lord?"
"Just for the thrill."
He grinned. Yes, it will excite the others hearing that girls scream. He turned to Sakura.
"She will lead the girls. Make sure that the others will cooperate."
"Of course."
The man left the High Priest with Sakura. He inspected her.
"The ritual is only an hour away but I think you and I will have a little... fun before the ritual starts."
He took her hand and led her into his sleeping quarters.
