Chapter 1 Platform 9 3/4
On the 1st of September 1973 at a 10:15 in the morning Remus Lupin was getting ready to board the Hogwarts Express to start his first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
His parents Joyce and Roger Lupin had come to see him off "Now Remus" Started his mum and Remus rolled his eyes.
"Yes mum I've got everything I've checked about 10 times." Said Remus with a note of irritation in his voice.
"Are you sure?" His mum asked again.
Remus's father, who was well used to his wife's worrying over their only son rolled his eyes "Joyce darling, stop worrying over Remus he will be fine."
"Are you sure?" She asked still with worry in her voice.
"Yes" Said Remus, and he turned, making to board the train before his mum yelled.
"Remus get back here I want to say goodbye properly!"
Remus cringed knowing very well what his mum meant, "Umm, no mum it's ok."
"But Remus it's your first day of school I wont see you again until Christmas, I just want to say goodbye to my baby boy."
Remus cringed even more many of the older students laughed and so did a few of their parents Remus noted. Remus decided that the only way to get her to stop embarrassing him was to let her say goodbye in her own way. He walked over to her looking like judgement day had come. When he got to his mother he closed his eyes and waited for the inevitable. His mother pulled him into a tight hug and started kissing him over and over again. Remus tried to push her away but didn't have any luck. He was rescued by his father who pulled his mother of him. "Now Joyce let him go you're embarrassing him." His father pleaded.
His mother suddenly realised what she had been doing "Remus I'm sorry it's just that you're my baby boy my only child and your going of to Hogwarts to become a wizard and I won't see you until Christmas." She said starting to cry.
Remus was alarmed he had never seen his mother cry before he didn't know what to do but luckily his father stepped in and put a comforting arm around her shoulders. "Remus you do know that me and your mother are both very proud of you." Remus nodded "And you do know how happy we where about you getting into Hogwarts" Remus nodded again "It's just that we worry about you, you know with your condition and all."
Remus went bright red at the mention of his condition, his condition was the reason he had been so shocked to get into Hogwarts. Both him and his parents were very shocked when he got his letter of acceptance but as his father had always said Albus Dumbledore was a very good man and a fantastic wizard who always gave people the benefit of the doubt, no matter what their circumstances.
"Dad." Said Remus lowering his voice slightly "I thought we weren't going to mention that here I told you I didn't want people knowing."
"I know." Said his father "I'm sorry now go get on the train before your mother calms down and grabs you again." Remus gave his father a quick hug, said goodbye and boarded the train.
James Potter an 11 year old boy with unruly black hair, glasses and a mischievous grin watched as a boy with sandy hair who looked to be about his age said goodbye to his parents. James laughed when the boys mother had called him her baby boy and had hugged him and kissed him not wanting to let go until the boys father had pulled her of him. James stopped watching the boy after that and turned to his own parents and little sister Jess to say goodbye himself.
His mum Amanda Potter looked close to tears and James seriously hoped that she wouldn't start doing what the boy's mother had done. She started to move towards him and James stepped back in alarm.
"Mom please please please don't start hugging and kissing me I'm begging you." He said looking at her with a pleading look on his face.
Jess laughed and said, "Go on mom please start embarrassing him I want to watch."
Their mom looked at her "Jess I treat you both equally now if I'm going to start embarrassing James I'm going to start embarrassing you as well its only fair."
Joes paled "Actually mom you know maybe embarrassing James wouldn't be such a good idea." Said Jess hastily not wanting her mom to embarrass her in front of Hogwarts students a year before she even started at the school.
"Fine then" Said her mum "Don't go telling me to embarrass James cause I'll embarrass you as well."
"Yes mom" Muttered Jess but was silenced by a death glare from her mother.
James' mom hugged him, then pulled away looked at him and tried to flatten his hair "Mom" Said James trying to push his mom off "Leave my hair alone."
"But dear it's so messy you want to look smart on your first day of school don't you?"
James rolled his eyes and wondered how his mother had never grasped the fact in the 11 years of his life that his hair never stayed flat, no matter what he tried "Mom, you should know by know that my hair never stays flat it simply grows out that way like dads does."
"Yes." Said his mom looking at James father's hair with hatred "Well I don't exactly like your father's hair either."
James' father Harry spoke and said "Amanda dear what exactly is wrong with my hair personally I like it and I am very glad that James has inherited it, and very glad that Jess hasn't." He added as more of an afterthought than anything else.
The other three Potters laughed at this and Jess added, "Trust me dad I'm happy I didn't inherit your hair as well."
James' father clapped him on the back "Well son I think it's about time that you boarded the train if you want to get a compartment that is."
James said quick goodbyes to his parents and gave Jess a quick hug before turning round and boarding the train.
Nearby another young boy also with black hair was watching the Potters. Sirius Black wished his family would be like that family so loving and caring not the cold-hearted pureblooded pigs that called themselves his family.
With sadness he turned back to where his family where waiting to say goodbye. His mother and father as usual looked down their noses at him like he was a piece of dirt. Sirius hated his family they were different from him. Although Sirius looked like his father, he was nothing like him his father was a wizard who believed that muggleborns or mud bloods, as he put it should be killed or at least not be allowed to study magic. His mother also believed this and both his parents tried to bring up Sirius to believe this as well but Sirius was strongly against his family's beliefs, which was why he hated them, and they hated him.
He looked at his little brother Regulus only a year younger than himself although Regulus believed all the pure blooded rubbish their parents taught him he wasn't all bad sometimes when they were younger. Regulus would confide in Sirius and tell him that he didn't like their parents beliefs whether he still believed this Sirius didn't know because since then, him and his brother once so close had drifted apart.
"Well goodbye then" Said his mother snapping Sirius out of his thoughts with her cold dry voice.
Sirius looked at her and for once, he wished she would show that she actually cared for him seeing as she wouldn't be seeing him for another year.
"Bye" Said Sirius dryly.
"Well hurry up and get on the train then" Said his father "Me and your mother have somewhere to be, we cant hang round here all day waiting for you to board a stupid train."
Sirius looked at his father with pure hatred in his eyes "I'm going." He said "Bye Regulus I'll see you next summer."
"Bye." Said Regulus though not as coldly as their parents had.
Sirius turned round and boarded the train never looking back.
Peter Pettigrew, a small plump boy with blonde hair and watery blue eyes watched the boy with black hair turn from his family who he didn't seem to like very much and board the train.
He turned back to his own mother she looked a mess her hair was a mess she was wearing her pyjamas under her coat and her tartan slippers. Basically she looked like someone had dragged her out of bed put, her coat on her and dragged her to the station which Peter practically had done. Peter felt guilty for leaving her. She had become an alcoholic after his father had died and Peter wanted to look after her although he was happy when he got his acceptance letter he didn't want to go to Hogwarts cause he had to leave her but his mother had insisted he went and made something of himself even though Peter doubted he would ever become anything he was practically a squib which was why his acceptance letter was such a surprise.
"Mum I've got to get on the train now ok."
His mother nodded "Ok Peter" She said her words slightly slurred due to her drinking. "I just want you to promise me one thing."
"Anything mum what is it?" Said Peter.
His mother looked at him her words no longer slurred "That you will do well at school and not become like me amounting to nothing and drinking yourself to death."
Peter looked at his mum for a few seconds then nodded "I'll do that mum I promise I will." He gave her a quick hug and turned and boarded the train.
Maggie- I wrote this chapter on my own cause my stupid sister couldn't be bothered helping instead she was reading anyway I know that at the moment its just them at the station but it will get better and I put a lot of work into this chapter while my lazy sister sat and read so I would please like you to do me a big favour and review whether you like it or not I don't care just review.
