Only For Your Roses

You stand in the evening breeze
Waiting for what I do not know.
A rose clutched in your fingers, thorns pricing your sweet skin.
In my sadness I forget you stand waiting
For that unknown lover
Who will never come.

Alas, a tear slides down my cheek
Cutting an unknown path to your heart.
Red hair mingling in blood
Dripping from a wound made by a broken heart.
Your unasked question mingling with the darkness and creating a song of
it's own.
Where could he be?
Promises that were whispered in a deaf ear on a dark night.

You never came and for that he still stands waiting
On a dark hill with a red rose and that gaping wound made by you.

Memories of lost love will haunt him forever.
Glowing red eyes he will see everywhere and in his dreams.
Taunting and angering thoughts of the one he held dear.
He shall lust for your touch and with that you will be condemned
Back to the borders of hell and heaven for eternity.
You've spoiled a perfect love that might have been your only hope.
Are you to scared to come forward and risk judgment by him?

You sit in a tree, staring at his window late into the night.
You follow his every move and plague his thoughts.
A white rose in your hand and all you want to do is show him kindness.

But I was never brought up to love and feel these things
You tell yourself, grudingly.
But really, you're confused inside and want to love and be loved back. It's hard for you to realize this, but this thought you shall contemplate.

With eager heart and mind
You race to tell him but find he has gone.
Where?
The place of longing and sorrow.
It would seem he pains for your companionship.

Relief at the sight of him
All red hair and emerald eyes, smiling at the sight of you.
I knew that this would be a happy ending, just knew in my heart!
The bloody wound is gone and the broken, mended.
A light kiss that seems to be more passionate by the moment
And then, never ending bliss.
