Sammy was taking Gabriel's snack out of the microwave when Craig knocked on the door. Gabriel went to jump up out of his chair when Sammy glared at him. "Eat, first," she said. "I'll get the door."

Gabriel sat down and dug into his macaroni and cheese.

Sammy walked through the house and opened the door and Craig walked in. "Hey," he said.

"Didn't I just talk to you on the net?" Sammy asked.

"Yeah," Craig said. "Is that a problem?"

"I guess not."

Craig leaned down and caught Sammy up in a kiss. He pulled back and looked at her. "What was that for?" Sammy asked.

He shrugged. "Because I love you."

Sammy looked up at him. "Craig Manning, this baby isn't coming for another five months and you're not going to help speed it up. That's not how it works."

Craig nodded. "I know it!" he laid his head down on her shoulder and then snapped up as Gabriel yelled for him.

"Coming, Gabe," Craig said. He took off toward the kitchen and kneeled down next to the tiny table.

"Hi, Craig," Gabriel said, picking out a noodle and putting it in his mouth.

"Hey," he replied.

Sammy walked into the kitchen and sat down at the counter in front of her own bowl of macaroni and cheese. "Hungry?" she asked Craig.

"Not really," Craig said.

"Why are you over?" Sammy asked.

He shrugged. "There was nothing on TV," he said. "And I just wanted to come over to talk to you about something."

"The baby?" Sammy asked.

"Sort of," he replied.

"Sort of?"

He stood up. "Well, about me and the baby. Caitlin got me thinking."

"Of what?"

"What if I turn into my dad? What if I hit you? Or Gabe? Or the baby."

Sammy put her fork down. "Don't worry about it, sweetie."

"Don't worry about it?" Craig asked. "How can I not worry about it?"

"Because, I won't let you turn into your dad."

Craig looked at her. "But what if?"

"That's all it is, Craig. 'What if'. Don't listen to the 'what ifs'. Craig, your dad was a jerk and you know that. You know what it's like to be hit and you don't want to repeat the same mistakes he did."

"Mistakes?"

Sammy nodded. "He let you go."

Craig looked down. "But what if I lose you?" he asked.

Sammy shook her head. "You won't. I'm not going to go anywhere." She stood up and kissed him.

He smiled. "I know," he replied. "I'm just scared."

"I know."

Gabriel stood up and walked over and reached up for Craig.

Craig bent down and picked him up and held onto him. Gabriel rubbed his eyes. Craig turned to Sammy. "I'm going to take him upstairs," he said.

Sammy nodded and watched Craig carry Gabriel upstairs. Sammy sat down and finished her snack.
