Kenshin and Kauru are in the kitchen making the dinner that Sanosuke was complaining about a little bit earlier. Kenshin was now working on putting the tofu into the soup. Kauru was cutting up the vegetables. Sanosuke sneaks into the kitchen and hides behind one of the pillars, but Kauru notices his presence. "Sanosuke Sagara, show yourself right this instant," Kauru screams at the top of her lungs. Sanosuke skitters out from behind the pillar and stands before Kauru.
"You better get to explaining why you were sneaking around the kitchen Sano," yells Kauru. Sano is what Sanosuke was called for short, a nickname. Kenshin walks between Sano and Kauru with a spoon.
"Now why don't you just let him off Miss Kauru. He is very hungry, that he is," Kenshin exclaims. Miss Kauru throws a spatula at Kenshin's head, leaving a nasty bump on his forehead. Sano starts to laugh hysterically.
"Kenshin got his by a spatula and I didn't get anything," Sano says teasingly. Sano heads to the door, prancing to his little tune. But Kauru gets him in the back of the head with a frying pan.
"Don't think you are getting off that easily Sagara," Kauru says angrily. "You better get out there and help Yahiko with cleaning the hallway, there is a lot to be done!" Sano grunts and walks out of the kitchen.
"And don't forget this Sano," Kauru picks up a washcloth and throws it to Sano.
"Yeah, I could never forget this," Sano says boringly.
