Don't you wish people had the faith
They did during David's time?
And the messiah wasn't spoken of
But they trusted God even in war.

Don't you wish we could know for sure
Whether something would go right?
Although David was involved in many wars,
He had faith that God would over come.

Don't you wish our world was in order,
Done to God's specific plan?
Instead everyone trusts in them selves?
And have no place to turn when things go bad.

Don't you wish people knew when to be nice,
And then would go to any length?
David was kind to no end
Because he loved Jonathan, who was good.

Don't you wish our rulers
Could be good models for their people?
David set the standard for Israel,
As did Solomon, his son.

Don't you wish we could trust
Just like a little child?
Who believe there are monsters
Because we tell them so.

Don't you wish we heard songs
Of praise to Him all the time?
Maybe psalms would be good to write
David wrote seventy-three.

A/N can you tell I think David is cool? What a world we'd have if we could have leaders like David. Minus all the wars and killing. Maybe Solomon would be a better choice: Who wants a king who counts his army every day?
