Ashley walked into the cafeteria and signed-in. She had written a song awhile back (AUTHOR'S NOTE: It was in one of my previous chapters) and she was finally going to sing it in front of everyone.
Craig, Sammy, Jimmy, Hazel, Spinner, Paige, and Marco walked into the cafeteria and Marco took the pen from Ashley when she was through. He signed them all in and they went to set up on the small stage.
Everyone started coming in and sitting down. When they were ready Liberty walked out onto the stage and picked up the microphone. "Ok, first we have Ashley Kerwin singing a song that she had written," she said.
Everyone applauded and Sammy leaned over next to Craig, both of whom were sitting in the front row. "Is this going to be bashing me or you?" she asked.
"Possibly both of us," Craig said.
Sammy shrugged and sat up.
Ashley picked up the microphone and turned it on and everyone groaned as feedback echoed through the cafeteria. Mr. Raditch clapped his hands and they turned their attention back to Ashley.
"They told me that I should've known better/Than to take you back/But I was following my heart/I thought you wouldn't do it again/But I guess I was wrong/You're nothing but a lying son of a—" she started singing, her eyes burning with tears and anger. Knowing what came next Mr. Raditch ran over and cut off the speaker.
"Um, Ms. Kerwin, language like that goes against—"
"The Code of Conduct," she said, turning it back on. "Big freaking deal."
"Ms. Kerwin, go to my office now," he said.
Angry, Ashley shoved the microphone at him and walked off the stage. Sammy turned and looked at Craig. "Are you ok?" she asked.
He nodded. "Yeah," he said. "It's just Ashley being jealous Ashley. That's it."
Sammy smiled and nodded. But Ashley was going too far messing with Craig. Anger surged through her body and her muscles tightened. Craig reached over and picked up her hand. "Calm down Sammy," he whispered.
Sammy nodded and leaned back in the chair as other people did their act.
