"Now, to wrap up the talent show, put your hands together for Downtown Sasquatch," Liberty said.
The room exploded with applause as they took their places on the stage.
Craig started playing, then Jimmy joined, followed by Marco and then Spinner. (AUTHOR'S NOTE: Since Jake Epstein writes his own songs I'm not going to torture you with my lame ones. So just make it up as you go along). The song consisted of saying how much he loved Sammy and wanted to be with her and wanting to start a family with her.
Manny looked up as Ashley walked in and sat down. "What happened?" she asked.
"Detention," she said. "What is this crap we're listening to?"
"Something Craig wrote." Manny was secretly pretending that he was singing the song to her and smiled.
The song finished and Liberty was about to walk on stage but Craig grabbed the microphone. "I only have one more thing to say," he said. He walked over to Marco and handed him his guitar.
Marco smiled as Craig walked back over to the microphone and took it out of its stand, reached into his pocket and pulled out the ring box and opened it. He walked off the stage and over to Sammy and got down on one knee. "Sammy, I love you so much and I want to spend forever with you," he said, choking on his words. "Will you marry me?"
Sammy stared at him in disbelief. While onstage, Marco grinned and had a look saying "I knew it before you all did! Ha ha!", Jimmy's jaw dropped, and Spinner's jaw dropped and dropped his drumsticks onto the ground.
Manny and Ashley sat up straight in their seats. That jerk! Ashley thought.
That could've been me, Manny thought, tears filling her eyes.
Craig looked at her waiting for an answer.
Sammy licked her lips and took a deep breath and took the microphone from him. "Number one, I love you, too. Number two, I'm going to beat you up for this," he smiled. "And number three," she dramatically paused, "yes, I will marry you."
Everyone applauded as Craig slipped the ring on her finger, happy that he had gotten the right size.
Manny and Ashley stood up and walked out into the hall, trying to catch their breaths, both of them were blinking back tears, as everyone congratulated the engaged teens.
"I hate him," Ashley said. "I hate both of them."
Manny looked at her and touched her arm. "So do I," she replied.
Ashley turned and smiled, tears rolling down her cheeks. "Thanks."
