Joey was at work when Craig and Sammy walked in to find Caitlin and Spike talking to Jane. "Mom, what are you doing here?" Sammy asked. Gabriel was playing in his playpen not too far away with Jack.
"I just came over to see Gabe and you," Jane said taking a sip of coffee.
"Right you wanted to see if I was surviving without you, right?"
Jane sighed. "I know what I did was out of line."
"Duh."
"But," she said, taking a deep breath and then letting it out. "I found my old diary."
"So?" Sammy asked. Craig put their backpacks on the couch. Sammy was playing with her ring and she stopped and looked at her mother as she gave her an explanation.
"When I was younger I wrote down everybody I had ever…slept with," she said. "And I went back to when you were conceived and I wrote down their names."
Caitlin picked up the yellow pad and held it up with names on it. Sammy walked over and took it from her and read over the names. "One of them is my dad?" she asked.
"Yes," Jane said. "I'm sorry. I didn't really think that I would get pregnant and it would screw up mine and my baby's lives."
"Well, it did."
Jane looked up at her and put her coffee cup down and starting crying, "I'm sorry, Sammy." She put her hands in her face and started crying. Before Sammy could stop herself she stepped forward and hugged her mother.
"Stop Mom," she whispered. "I forgive you."
Spike looked up and saw Sammy's ring. "Is that—?" she started and Sammy smiled and nodded. She pulled back and showed her mother.
"Craig and I are going to get married after minding my dad," she said.
Craig nodded and jumped up onto the counter and picked up the pad and looked at the names.
"That's great, Sweetheart!" Jane exclaimed.
"Yeah, it is isn't it?" Sammy said.
"Could you, please forgive me?" Jane asked.
"For hitting me? Yes. But for lying to me?"
"I know, I'm sorry, Sammy."
Sammy sighed. "You just want me to go back home, right?"
"If you don't want to."
"I don't. I want to stay with Craig."
Jane was quiet for a moment and then nodded. "Ok," she stood up. "You just remind me from when you were little. You always wanted to stay with Craig."
Craig and Sammy smiled, remembering when they use to beg their mothers to let them stay with each other, they usually talked until midnight, which is a big achievement when you're five.
"Well," Jane said. "I'll go now. I love you, Sammy."
"I love you, too."
Jane kissed Sammy on the cheek and then left the house.
Craig waited until Jane had left and handed Sammy the list of the names. "Do you want to start looking?" he asked.
Sammy took it and nodded. "Yeah," she said.
"Ok," Craig replied. "We'll start looking right away."
Craig kissed her cheek and took off running upstairs with the list. Sammy turned and walked into the living room to play with Gabe and Angela.
