AUTHOR'S NOTE: Thank you for the baby suggestions. In this chapter you'll see the names and then you'll get a chance to vote on them for the "JOEY AND CAITLIN BABY NAME" thing. Oh, I took your suggestions and gave them meanings found at a baby name website to make the chapter interesting. ROCK ON!
Caitlin and Joey were on the internet later that night doing their own search. Caitlin rubbed her belly as they looked at the baby names while Sammy and Craig played with Angela and Gabriel in the next room.
"Should we check out boy names first?" Caitlin asked.
"Sure," Joey said. They had both decided against Joseph, Jr. so they were trying to look for other names.
Caitlin clicked on the boy names and looked through some suggestions. "Oh, about Alexander!" she exclaimed. She read the description over to the side. "It means 'protector of mankind'."
Joey wrote it down. They were going to write them down and survey (AUTHOR'S NOTE: Like what I'm doing) which name was liked best.
Caitlin clicked again. "Oh, I love the name Cameron!" she replied. "But it doesn't have a meaning." (AUTHOR'S NOTE: It might but I couldn't find it) Joey scribbled it down and Caitlin went to a different name. "Connor? It means 'much wanted'."
"I love that name," Sammy replied. "But I liked the name 'Gabriel' it means 'God is my strength' and that's what I had needed after what I had been through."
"That is sweet," Caitlin said. She turned back to the computer and another name caught her eye. "What about Kevin? It means, 'gentle, lovable'." Joey wrote it down as well. He saw a name that he had liked as well. He pointed to it.
"Liam," he said. "It's Irish for 'unwavering protector'."
"I like that name, too," Caitlin said and Joey scribbled it down as well. "'Nick', meaning 'victorious people'?"
"What are you doing?" Craig asked, walking in with Gabe.
"Choosing baby names," Sammy said.
"Daddy, Caitlin?" Angela asked. "Since the baby is going to be my brother or sister can I choose one?"
"Sure," Joey said. "Hop on over here."
Angela ran over and she looked at the computer screen and pointed to one name. "What does 'cautious' mean?"
"It means 'careful'," Joey said.
"Well, if I have a brother I want him to be careful," Joey looked over at Craig and Craig gave him a "shut up" look, but none of the girls noticed it. "So I choose the name 'Trevor'."
"Alright," Joey said. "Are there any other names you like?"
Caitlin went through it and half of the names she couldn't pronounce or didn't like, so she shook her head and clicked on GIRL NAMES.
Caitlin searched through the names for a while before finding a name she liked. "'Audrey'," she said. "It means noble strength."
Joey wrote it down and Angela pointed to the name "Caroline". "'Strong, melody, song'. If she's going to be my sister she has to be able to sing or something," she said.
Joey wrote down his daughter's suggestion and looked at the name "Emily". "I really like that one. I always have, it means 'industrious, eager'," he said. Caitlin nodded in agreement and he wrote that one down as well.
"I love the name 'Jacquelyn' but there's no meaning for it on here," Caitlin said. "But write that down."
Joey nodded and scribbled it down.
"Could I choose another one?" Angela asked.
"Sure, sweetie," Caitlin replied. They waited until Joey finished writing before Angela chose the next one she liked.
"'Jasmine'," Angela said, pointing to it. "It means 'jasmine flower, gift from God'."
"I like that name, too," Craig replied, leaning on his arms.
"Do you want to choose one, too?" Joey asked. "I mean, he or she is going to be your…something."
"Sure," Craig said. He walked over to the computer and leaned over Caitlin's shoulder and finally found a name he liked. "'Kelli'," he said. "It means 'warrior/defender'."
"That's cool," Sammy replied.
"Yeah?" Craig asked.
Joey nodded and looked at the screen and the name "Lauren" caught his eye. "I like that name, too," he said. "It means 'crowned with laurel'. What do you think, honey?"
"Yeah," Caitlin said. Angela agreed.
Caitlin chose the last name she liked. "'Lucy', it means 'light'."
Joey wrote it down and looked at it. "I think we have enough."
"Alright," Caitlin said. She logged off of the baby name site and looked at their choices. "I think we picked out some of the perfect names for the baby."
"Yeah, we did," Joey replied. He leaned down and kissed her on the lips and rested his hand on her belly.
