A day in the life of an elven prince a.k.a. Legolas' secret diary

Today was the usual sort of day. Well, as usual as it gets for me; the prince of Mirkwood.

I woke up and everything was normal. I went and visited Aragorn in Rivendel, which was a mistake of course, seeing we always end up going out riding and he usually falls of a cliff whilst I get mauled by some evil creature. Today was no exception.

It all started when I and Aragorn went for a ride into the forest that surrounds Rivendel, then, for some reason, we came to a path that spit in two, Aragorn, despite being brought up in the area and encountering the same problem the day before, didn't know which way to go. I knew which way to go, but he was sure it was the opposite direction. Next time I may try a spot of reverse psychology, but knowing my luck he will jut agree and take the trail I suggest, i.e. the one that leads to the cliff.

Anyway, I and Aragorn went down the path he chose and we came to the cliff edge, as usual I heard a noise behind us; right on queue. Aragorn seems to be magnetic to everything evil, vicious and bloodthirsty.

I tried to guess what was stalking us today, an orc maybe, or even a warg, but it was probably a spider. I turned just about as it was going to jump, and I saw.. Dun… Dun… Daa!!... A giant spider! Oh shock, shock horror! How unoriginal. At least this time I hoped it would be something new, like a gorilla or a dragon.

It was about to jump on Aragorn when I shot it in the eye. This caused it to curl up in pain and nock Aragorn off the cliff. I wasn't worried. Aragorn has fallen off of so many cliffs I think he has an immunity.

I managed to kill the spider but not without getting bitten and injected with the poison. I had just about enough energy left to shout for Aragorn.

I woke up in Elrond's house about a week later, I had been lugged home in pieces on the back of Aragorn's horse. Elrond lectured me and Aragorn about going out on rides, and told Aragorn not to go near any more cliffs.

We are going out again tomorrow. This time I will probably be captured and tortured by something, I will get slowly depressed because of beatings and eventually loose the will to live. I will then be rescued by either Elrond or Aragorn and take years to get over the trauma of it all. Oh, I almost forgot; Aragorn will most probably fall off a cliff.

My dad is right... Aragorn is a bad influence.
