Epilogue
Finished? Not Quite!
I opened my eyes and stared at the ceiling. It was early, not time to get up yet, I could tell, because I'm never ready to wake up before Jack. I wasn't going to be able to fall asleep again for a few more minutes, so I began to think.
It had been almost 2 whole years now since the night Jack and I left Mineral Town. When we had left, we traveled around for quite a long time. In fact, we hadn't found the right place where we could settle until about 2 seasons ago.
I sighed in happiness as I thought of our new home. Here, we didn't have to worry about being caught together; here, we didn't have to hide like we did in Mineral Town--because here, we were alone.
We found a place that in fact wasn't that far from Mineral Town--a quaint little place where we could live. Now don't get me wrong, this place is still pretty big! We knew this was the perfect place when we first saw it. It was about the size of Jack's old farm in fact.
Now, you may think we live like lonely old hermits, but we don't. There's another small island village—slightly more populated than ours—less than a mile away, so it only takes a few minutes every morning to get there by boat.
We wake up in the morning and eat first. After that, we just spend a little time hanging around the house. Sometime a little before noon we head into town. We spend most of the day there, just living a normal life. We come home just before dark, and spend the night here.
Now of course, nobody in town really knows that Jack and I have a relationship. They know we both live on this small island, but nobody has ever come over here, so they don't know that we live together.
I think about Mineral Town every once in a while. Jack and I have even discussed going back. Just for a visit, you know, to surprise them. I think of all the good times that I had there, but then I remember that if we still lived there, I wouldn't have the best thing in my life here with me.
I feel Jack moving next to me and look over at the clock. I hadn't realized it, but I had been awake for close to an hour now. Jack sits up, yawns, and then looks down at me.
"Hey. . ." he says to me.
"Hey." I respond smiling, knowing that I never want to leave this life.
FIN (for real this time)
(A/N: Ok, no more add-ons . I really want to start my new story now =P Please review, for the last time on this story.)
