Scene 3:

(Screen black, people are heard in the back round hurrying and giving orders. The camera fades in. A big ship is seen and many people are loading it. The camera zooms into Will, the Governor, Elizabeth, and Norrington. Will and Norrington are in uniform.)

GOVERNOR: (to Will) Norrington will teach you all you need to know on the ship. (To Norrington) Make sure that he is well taken care of Commodore. It is his first day.

NORRINGTON: Yes sir. (Glances at Will) I will make sure he gets the...appropriate care.

GOVERNOR: Very well...good luck...and return safely.

(The governor walks off)

ELIZABETH: (takes Will's hands) Good luck Will. Be careful.

(Elizabeth hugs Will. Norrington glances over to see Elizabeth and Will together, and pretends not to notice. A glimpse of sadness is in his eyes. Elizabeth stops and turns towards Norrington.)

NORRINGTON: (tips hat) Ms. Swann

ELIZABETH: (curtsies and says with no emotion) Commodore.

(Elizabeth senses that everyone is uncomfortable, she glances at Will, and exits)

NORRINGTON: Now. You will start by cleaning the deck. I want it spotless. (Shoves a mop towards Will.)

WILL: (says sarcastically and bows) Yes sir, my great Commodore.

(Norrington gives Will a stern look and walks off onto the ship. The camera zooms in on Will's face as he rolls his eyes. He follows Norrington onto the ship. The camera pans out as the ship begins to sail off. You can see Will starting to clean the deck. Dissolve to next scene.)

Scene 4:

(Norrington and a lookout are on the deck. The lookout is looking through a telescope.)

NORRINGTON: Do you see anything?

LOOKOUT: No sir. Not a ship in sight. It's unusual if you ask me. I never have a seen the waters this quite.

NORRINGTON: Yes, well keep an eye out. We must be ready for anything.

(Norrington walks away; the camera follows him as he walks down the front of the ship where Will is still washing the deck.)

NORRINGTON: Mr. Turner. You have done a decent job. However, if you want to stay upon my ship you are going to have to do better.

WILL: (sighs) Commodore, I did not ask to be part of this ship but if you expect me to...

LOOKOUT: (Says urgently) Commodore Norrington! Commodore Norrington! There is a ship ahead. It looks like they are prepared to fight!

NORRINGTON: (Says to self) Great just what we needed. (Yells to everyone) Aim the cannons. Prepare to fight!

(Norrington runs off, out of sight. The camera turns around to Will. Will hesitates then runs to the side of the ship to see the approaching ship. He picks up the telescope. The camera ship is as if you were looking through the telescope. The ship is seen close up. The camera moves up to see a Pirate flag. The ship is back on Will's face. Will has a confused look on his face.)

WILL: (to self) Pirates?

(The camera pans out to see both ships. They are within fighting range from each other. The Commodore's ship turns so the cannons are facing the pirate ship. The pirate ship still comes closer. The shot jumps to down in the cannons room where many people are rushing around loading the cannons. The shot jumps to the wide shot, the Pirate ship fires. Then the next shot is on Norrington's face.)

NORRINGTON: (yells) Ready...Aim...FIRE!

(The camera jumps to the shot with both ships. You see the cannons fire at the pirate ship. The pirate ship returns the fire, yet still moves closer. The camera jumps to Will running around gathering items. He already has a rope in his hand. The camera moves back to both ships. The pirate ship is now very close to the Commodore's ship. Will grabs a sword and ties the rope to the mast. The shot jumps to Norrington who looks down to see Will with the rope.)

NORRINGTON: (yells, very angrily) Turner! What in heaven's name are you doing!

WILL: (yells back) I'm going to fight! And you can't stop me.

NORRINGTON: You are not to disobey my orders Turner! Get back here.

WILL: (Prepares to jump aboard the other ship) You need me to do this. You're dealing with pirates. You cannot win against them. There will be too many. (Says sarcastically) Don't worry; I will finish the deck when I return.

(Will smirks and jumps aboard the Pirate Ship. The shot jumps to Norrington preparing to run after him. He then stops and thinks about it. Then, he turns to give the rest of the crew orders. The camera shifts to Will fighting the pirates. He kills three and turns to see more coming towards him. He tries to keep fighting them, but increasingly more come. None of the faces look familiar to Will. They surround him, and he finally stops fighting. One steps out, grabs his arms, and ties them behind his back.)

PIRATE: Well... well...well...what do we have here? A lad who thinks he could fight us 'eh? He should do. Take him to the cap'n.

(They push him towards the door to the bottom of the ship. Will struggles to get free, but fails. Two go down with him. The shot jumps to seeing both ships. The pirate ship sails away still fighting until they are out of range. The shot jumps to a close up on Norrington's face.)

NORRINGTON: (Taking to self, says sarcastically) Thank you Mr. Turner (sighs) that was quite a stupid move to make. Now who will finish the deck?

CREWMEMBER: What should we do now Commodore?

NORRINGTON: (hesitates to think) Turn the ship around and head home, we cannot possibly catch up with that ship. Mr. Turner will have to fend for himself now.

(Norrington nods to the crewmember, giving him the order to turn the ship around.)

CREWMEMBER: (Yells to the rest of the crew) Turn this ship around and move towards home men. QUICKLY!

(The shot is the same as the shot for when the two ships were fighting. The pirate ship is missing, and you see the Commodore's ship turn towards home.)
