Fairy Boy.
That is what I call him. His name is Link. Two years ago he defeated the evil wizard Ganondorf and was proclaimed the Hero of Time. We are good friends, he lives in the Kokiri forest and comes over often to help me around the ranch and have fun. Whenever I'm around him, I just feel so... happy. His eyes, his hair, and his personality... he is just so perfect. But he wouldn't want anything to do with a farm girl like me.
"Malon!" a voice called out behind me. I turn around to see who is there. It is Link. "I see you have finished your chores already?" He said to me, smiling. "Oh, yes, I have..." I mutter. His blue eyes stare down at me, how I could melt in them. "Well, do you want to help me groom Epona?" He asked, motioning to his horse. "Sure!" I replied. I had given him Epona, my favourite horse, many years ago. While we groomed her, we joked and talked. After awhile we finished. The sun was starting to go down.
"Um, Malon?" He asked me. "Yes?" I squeaked, there was something in his voice that made me feel nervous. "Do you think you could sing for me?" He asked shyly. "Oh, sure." I replied. I was disappointed; I thought he was going to say something, something different. We walked out to the middle of the corral. There, I sang. I sang the song my Mother taught me before she past away. I closed my eyes whenever I sang. But I could tell his eyes were on me. I started to blush. I drifted away in my song. I don't know how long we stood there, but suddenly...
"Malon! Look out!" He cried. I ducked as a large branch flew over me. A strong wind had started up. My fiery hair started blowing everywhere. Dark clouds crept over the sky, although they seamed to circle Hyrule Castle. Link looked worried. "Malon, I'd better go see what's happening." "Sure, come back soon" I replied, not making a big deal of it. It's not like he would be away for a long time or anything.
He looked at me for a while, then jumped up on Epona and rode out of the ranch. I walked inside and started to cook dinner. Dad and Mr. Ingo came in and ate, while I went upstairs and got ready for bed. I brushed my hair, put on my nightgown and climbed into bed. I hummed my mother's song for a little while, before I drifted off to sleep.
Darkness, the Evil King came down from the clouds. He sent his minions out to take over Hyrule. The King and Princess could do nothing. Link was nowhere to be seen.
I woke with a start. What was that dream? Was it real? I looked out the window. It was dark, too dark. I have a bad feeling about letting Link leave...
