Disclaimer: I do not own Angel. I was really disturbed by what Lorne had
to do to Lindsey in the finale. There may already be something like this
up, but I don't know so I did not steal. The first line is from MacBeth. It
just seemed like the best way to start the fic . Thank you for reading and
hopefully it's not too bad.
p.s. I re-posted this because I misspelled Lorne's name , sorry about that .
A little water clears us of this deed.
If only it was that easy. Every act a person commits, no matter how big or small, is with
them for the rest of their lives. Evil, even done for the right reasons, leaves a stain upon
one's soul. Lorne always knew that. He had seen enough people's futures to see that
truth long ago. He just didn't know that he would eventually have his own stain. Lindsey
Mac Donald was dead. Maybe it was the only way. That's what Angel told him.
Lindsey had done too much; he couldn't be trusted after everything was done. Maybe he
couldn't be trusted , but he himself had trusted , wrongly as it turned out .He had put his
faith in Lorne . He had counted on Lorne to make sure he survived. And he did, till
Lorne faced him and shot. Lorne made sure he understood that it was Angel's order .
That's what Lorne kept telling himself, it was one last favor for a friend.
After taking care of his part of the assignment, Lindsey went to the sink to wash
the blood off. He could kill that easily, pretend that he hadn't done anything wrong. At
the time, Lorne had found it ironic that he had washed his hands of the blood , now it
made him sick to think about it . Blood can never be washed off. It stains you. Lorne
had know this , that's why he couldn't go back . Champions learn to deal with their
stained souls . Lorne wasn't a champion , he was a guide , a messenger .He wasn't that
anymore . He had seen Eve's future . She was alone and lost and had nothing . He
realized now how it had come to past . Lindsey was her whole world. They loved each
other as much as they were capable of .Now that he was gone , she had nothing .May be
Lindsey did deserve to die , but that didn't matter . Lorne was a murder now , and
nothing could change that , especially a bit of water .
