What's Love?

Author's Note: This is my first fan fic. I got the idea from thinking about Summer's past. How she's probably never really been told that she's loved, or wanted, or needed or has any value other than materialism. Seth wants to prove her wrong. This takes place after the season finale. But Seth hasn't left. And Theresa isn't pregnant. Or with Ryan. Please be kind. And I tend to drabble. By the way, this is just a prologue. If it's not obvious. I'll get more lengthy later on.

"Cohen."

"Roberts."

She hit him lightly. Well, in her opinion it was light. Not to him.

"Ow!"

She rolled her eyes at this.

"You are such a woman."

"Does that make you a lesbian?"

All it took was a glare to shut him up. He knew the drill. Rage blackout warning sign.

"Why do you like me?"

It was a simple enough question. But the answer wasn't. This always puzzled Summer. And Seth always dodged it. He couldn't tell her everything. She'd think he was a freak. Well, yeah, he was. And she knew that. But this would make him almost stalker-ish. Well, in her opinion probably. He had come to know a lot about her and her reactions in the past few months.

"Just because."

She was getting irritated now. Not good.

"That's not an answer you know."

When Summer Roberts wanted to know something, she had a way of finding it out. Always had. A natural born instigator.

"I know."

She got up from her bed, he always avoided questions. But then again he did come up with answers eventually.

"I'm leaving now."

"Summer, this is your house!"

"Oh. Well then you're leaving."

"I'll be back."

"You better be."

With that he got up and left the room, but not before looking back to Summer and smiling. Call him crazy, but he was pretty sure he was in love with her. Another thing that could potentially scare her.

And that's the last thing he wanted for them. Was to lose her.
