Chapter 1: "Where Am I?"
Peppermint opened her deep blue eyes and looked around. The sky above her was a deep, sapphire blue, the grass under her silky, turquoise fur a soft, springy carpet. The trees around her were rich with green leaves, and dark mahogany bark. The rays of sun that shone down on her light pink hair were warm and welcoming as they danced along the glossy surface of the leaves and blades of grass that surrounded her.
"Where am I?"
Peppermint sat up, propping herself up on her delicate elbows, her tail swishing back and forth under her as she looked around inquisitively. This wasn't where she was a moment ago...And where had her friends gone? Shadow, Tigre, Pastel...They were all missing! Peppermint turned her head around frantically, desperately searching for any sign of her missing comrades.
"Shadow? Tigre? Pastel? Where are you?!"
There was no response. Peppermint clambered to her knees and then to her feet as she continued to call for her friends. Each time she called, there was no response. Peppermint's heart sank as she sat back down on the comfortable mat of grass under her.
"Where are my friends? Where am 1? What is this place?"
Peppermint held her small head in her hands and took a deep breath. Sitting around, doing nothing wasn't going to help her find her friends, and it certainly wasn't going to help her find out anything about where she was. She had to take action. She knew her friends were out there, somewhere, and they were probably looking for her too. Peppermint hoped that her friends were lucky enough to be together and not split up like she had been. She forced herself to her feet again and took a few steps toward the small grove of trees ahead of her.
"Standing around doing nothing isn't going to get my friends back. I have to look for them. What if something happened to them?"
