Ranma 1/2
Dear Ryouga
By: Kate Maxwell
Prologue
"I'll Get you Ranma."
"Not if I get you first." Ranma yelled over his shoulder. He was running from a 16 and a half year old boy. The boy's name, Ryouga Hibiki. Normally, Ranma could beat Ryouga, no problem. But if he was late again for one of Akane's meals, he was in for a world of hurt. Ranma, of course, knew better than to actually eat her food. That was why he had asked Ryouga to come over. Ryouga would do anything for Akane, even eat her disgusting, poisoning food. But Ranma had unwittingly said this within Ryouga's range of hearing. This statement had made Ryouga mad, but Ryouga still decided to go and see Akane.
"Stop running and fight like a man Saotome." Ryouga yelled.
"Never pig boy." Ranma yelled back. Only a few more houses and he was home-free.
"You scared Ranma. You should be." Ryouga challengingly said. "I knew it, you're a coward."
"I am not. I just can't be . . ." Ranma started but was interrupted by,
"Late." ... Akane.
"It's not my fault Akane. I asked Ryouga if he'd like to join us." Ranma said, trying to sound nonchalant.
"Stop it. You're making me sick." Akane said, malice growing in her eyes.
"Hi Akane. H-how are you this fine summer day?" Ryouga asked. He was always shy around girls, especially Akane.
"I'm fine. It's nice to have you over, Ryouga. You act like the man that Ranma should be." Akane said, still glaring at Ranma.
"So. What are we eating for supper Akane?" Ranma asked.
"We? You can have whatever you're making. The rest of us, including Ryouga, are having the dinner that Kasumi made." Akane said. Ryouga's face lit up at the fact that Akane was including him.
"But, but, but. That's not fair." Ranma protested.
"I know. That's the point." Akane mused.
"Fine. I'll just go and visit Shampoo then." Ranma said.
"A-akane. Why not just let him eat here?" Ryouga asked, trying to be nice to the person who always brought him so much emotional pain and turmoil by teasing him about Akane and calling him pig boy or P-chan whenever she was around.
"If you say so Ryouga. I don't know why there aren't more men like you. You're always so kind and thoughtful and giving." Akane said. She was shaking her head, which was now on a downward slant. Ryouga blushed at the compliment.
"Please pig boy. You're makin' me sick. More than normal anyway." Ranma said, in a very jerk-like tone.
"Oh, Shut Up Already." Akane said, speaking to Ranma. "Oh Ryouga. Before I forget, you're sister came by. She wanted me to give you this." Akane handed a letter to Ryouga.
"Thank you Akane." said Ryouga. He shakily took the letter from Akane's hand. On the front of the envelope it read, 'Dear Ryouga'.
