Chapter 1
His plane landed in Houston, Texas and he sighed, walking towards the baggage claim. As he got his luggage, he looked up to see a young girl around 20 talking to a woman he assumed to be her mother.
He neared the couple and soon was in hearing distance. "So anyway, Richard was going to break up with me, but I told him I was coming down here so I broke up with him, it was hilarious mom, you would have died if you had seen his face!" the girl said, picking up her luggage.
"Well, I'm glad to hear that you're so happy, what do you want to do? We can go eat if you haven't already, or go to the mall, Hot Topic's got some new stuff in," her mother said, smiling at the girl as she helped her with her bags.
"Let's go get a Cinnabon and then go to Hot Topic, I need a few new ringer tees and some new pants," the girl replied. Johnny bumped into her on his way past, causing her to drop a few of her bags.
"Sorry," he said, turning back to help her. He kneeled down and began picking the things up, not even looking up at the two women.
"It's quite alright," the girl said, crouching to help him. He looked up as she brushed light reddish brown hair out of her face, revealing her crystal blue eyes. "I'm Ashryn, Ashryn Straff."
"I'm Johnny, Johnny C. I'm really sorry about that, jet lag," he replied, laughing slightly and shaking the girl's hand as he handed her the bags back.
"And again I say that it's alright, this isn't the first time someone's made me drop my bags. So, ever been to Houston?" Ashryn asked, smiling at Johnny before biting her lower lip.
"Never. Never been out of my home town actually, I'm totally new to the state," Johnny replied, smiling as well.
"If you need a place to stay, you could stay at our house," her mother said, smiling at Johnny kindly.
"Oh, how silly of me, Johnny, this is my mother, Nicole Benbrook," Ashryn said, laughing.
'My god! She has the most melodic laugh I've ever heard' Johnny thought before saying, "Thank you Mrs. Benbrook, that would be lovely. Would it be alright if I were to hang out with you and your charming daughter until you go home, it would make more since, that way, you could get to know me better?"
"That's a wonderful idea Johnny. I think that would work just fine, don't you 'Shryn?" she said, looking at her daughter.
"Yeah, that sounds great. He'll definitely like Hot Topic," Ashryn replied, smiling at her mother and then back at Johnny. 'He's so god damned gorgeous!' she thought, sighing as the trio walked out to her mother's car.
