Inside the Chamber

Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter; I'm just another poor soul with no life. I am just seeking to un-bored myself.

Prologue

Dumbledore had been staring at the silver image for a good hour, reliving the memory of the day he met Sybil Trelawney. Upon his first glance, Dumbledore had thought that she was a fraud. But it was only after a few minutes that Trelawney flashed into a major prophecy.

'The dark lord shall rise again, and crash that which is great… that which is named shall cease to exist… the innocent shall stand on the highest peak… those who are separated shall be united… the seven will rise…'

Dumbledore sighed. The prophecy that Trelawney made was supposed to start this year.

"Headmaster?" came a soft voice from the doorway.

Dumbledore turned around to face a shy, familiar man.

"Ah, Romulus. Good to see you again." Romulus was, of course, the brother of Remus Lupin, who was back to teach Defense Against the Dark Arts this year.

"I take it you have an opening?" Romulus asked, taking a seat in front of Dumbledore.

"Yes, but that is not the only reason why I've called you here." Dumbledore said. "I need those who can defend the school and its students against Voldemort."

Romulus flinched slightly at the mention of the Dark Lord's name.

"So he will be coming back."

"Yes." Dumbledore started. "And I fear he will try to come for the secret chamber which the Order made when he was defeated. Do you recall what was placed in this chamber?"

Romulus nodded. "I have not spoken to anyone else about … well, anything that happened that day."

"Of course. So, do you accept my offer?"

"For what job?" Romulus asked. "You never did tell me."

"Oh. Ancient Runes. I remember you excelled in that class.

"It was one of my favorites… It's going to be great to be back at Hogwarts."

"Enjoy it while you still can, for I fear that one day it will be destroyed."
