Chapter one: Cho returns
Why am I pushed to the side? I became the friend of Ron, Hermione, and Harry, but Hermione and Ron got together finally. Harry, feeling lonely and forgetting about me, went out in search of his old girlfriend Cho. And here am I, alone. All alone. They ignore me. I'm just Ginny, not worth noticing until I catch them when they fall. Not this time. I see a storm cloud over Ron and Hermione. They'll fight soon. Both will come running to me, though neither have been able to make time to talk to me. So when they do, I have something urgent to do that involoves ignoring them. "But Ginny!" They'll wail. And I'll shout back at them that they had no time for me until they needed my support. Well, not a single one has made time for me in an entire month. Ah, but I see now that Harry, too, will need me. He has gotten dumped. Well, we'll see about that. I will absolutely not be there for him now!
Ginny snapped her journal shut. Hermione was walking towards her, sobbing. "Oh Ginny!" She cried. "Oh, I'm sorry, Herm, I have something ever so important to do." "But- Ginny, I-""Oh, yeah, you need me now, huh? Couldn't make time for me all this month but you need me now1 Right, I'm off." And she walked away.
Ron bounded towards her. "Gin? Hermione and I are fighting and I really need you right now. "Of course you do, Ron. And I have no time for you. Just like you had no time for me." And she walked away like she had with Hermione.
Harry sat on the couch. "Ginny?" He called as she walked in. "Ginny, can you help me? I just got dumped." Ginny was seething. Needed her help, eh? Right, now for her plan! "Need my help? Tell me Harry, do you remember when the last time you noticed my existence was? I mean, you haven't spoken to me in a month. Now you need help and you some toddling back, like so many times before. What am I, a substitute friend? Well, here's the thing. If you can be my friend only when it's convenient for you, you can't be my friend at all." And again she walked away.
It worked! They're all dumbfounded! Wahoo!!!!!
Snap. Ginny shut her diary, thoroughly pleased.
