Promises are meant to be broken
Kagome ran from the forest, choking back tears. "That...that half-breed! He promised! He promised to protect me and never leave me again...forever..." With
that, she started to sob, letting the tears roll freely down her face. What Kagome had just witnessed was not pretty. She had seen InuYasha and Kikyo kissing in the middle of a clearing. They had been so into it, they
had not even seen her, let alone sense her. Kagome had gone to see if InuYasha had wanted some ramen and had just stood there in shock, watching. As Kagome ran back to camp, she had a thought. "Why should I care for him? All he's done was to break my heart over and over again. I knew that I had set my hopes to high for him..." "I guess after I tell the others I'll go
home. To where I really belong." With this in her mind, she ran back to camp, knowing she would never have to face him again... As InuYasha walked back to camp, he thought of what just happened moments before. He smiled. "Now, how do I keep this from Kagome?" He thought as he stepped into camp.
Everybody seemed to freeze as InuYasha came into view. Kagome stopped packing, Miroku for once stopped being a pervert, Sango stopped trying to comfort Kagome and persuade her to stay and at the same time slap Miroku. InuYasha stood there and asked "What's going on?" "Why's everybody suddenly so silent??" Miroku's big mouth had to blurt out "She's leaving because she saw you and Kikyo doing stuff in the forest." SLAP SLAP "Okay, fine, he's
right. Kagome wants to go back to her time because she just wants to be alone okay?" While they were talking, Kagome sneaked away from the group and made her way to the well. Just as she swung one leg over the edge, she heard InuYasha's voice right by her ear. "Where are you going Kagome?" he
said testily. "None of your business whatsoever!" she shot back. She
started to lower herself into the well when all of the sudden, when she felt a hand roughly hoist her back up. "LET ME GO!" she screamed, making sure she yelled right into his ear. "ARGH!" he yelled as he let go of her.
"Humph, weakling!!" she screamed, smirking as she as she went down the
well...
